25.01.2022 Last night the crew of 426 station conducted a training exercise on a new piece of equipment to assist FRNSW Alpine stations in the recovery of persons in our region. The Traverse Mule II proved popular with our crew after making themselves familiar with its operation and limitations.

23.01.2022 Today Firefighters from Perisher 426 station were at our sister station Jindabyne 338, honing our skills on the simulator. Thanks to 338 for accommodating us and to all our fire-fighters for taking time out to keep our skills up to date. #FRNSW #preparedforanything

21.01.2022 Well we are told today could be bad. With limited resources available to protect the villages of Perisher Valley, Charlotte Pass, Guthega and Smiggins plus all the buildings along Kosciuszko road preparations are complete. Weather overnight was calm and currently there is a steady breeze from the North West. Perisher resort has snow making in operation.

All villages as of this morning remain untouched by fire. While the threat is not yet over it looks like we have a reprieve for a few days allowing us to make more preparations , the station is staffed and ready to respond 24hrs a day, every day. We will be providing updates as often as we can over the next few we...eks. #fire #nswbushfires #nswfirerescue #nswfire #totalfireban #newsouthwales #watchandact #kosciuszkonationalpark #perisher #snowyhydro #charlottspass #guthega #bluecow #smigginholes #perishervalley #kosciuszko #eigerchalet #kac #station426 See more

11.01.2022 After an anxious night we were fortunate to receive 8mm of rain across the villages. When the sun came up today mother nature put on her best face. We are happy to report the fires have not yet reached the main range around Perisher, Guthega and Charlotte Pass
