25.01.2022 Someone asked me yesterday why i was not open. The costs of running a cafe are large. You need great food, loads of customers and good staff to make it work though. A TRIFECTA. It's winter, our borders are closed to tourists, so what do we do? Experiment on some home made goodies we can sell when it becomes viable to do so. Was having some fun at home creating home made wholesome meat pies to dine in or take away as well as peach, mango and apple pies as afters. All unique, great textures and flavours, All produce except the meat, which I buy fresh, grown, prepared and cooked on premises Looking forward to up scaling production to the cafe and opening the doors when the time is right and seeing you there. Home made fresh food made with love. NOTHING BETTER

24.01.2022 The KTM Motorcycle Overlanders passed through Swansea Wednesday/Thursday this week. I took the opportunity to open up at dawn for those looking for breakfast and coffee ahead of their continuing adventure around Tassie. So pleased we did as were they.

23.01.2022 While we are currently, shut we have been preparing some new offerings to try in our home before we develop up for the café. It was Curry with friends on Saturday night ahead of the cold blast which has hit the region. Today a SE brought some big surf (2m) to Swansea beaches and the surfers hit the waves. I wish we had had some curry left over to warm them up :)

23.01.2022 After opening up for Group Bookings COVID 19 put the mockers on that for the near future. At home I have been playing around with future offerings using produce from the cafe gardens including Bruschetta, Smokey Salsa and Fig Paste. STAY SAFE

17.01.2022 The Bowlers and Golfers tour group are enjoying our continental and cooked breakfast package. We are open earlier than anywhere else in town specifically to look after the group. We apologise that we are currently only open for the pre booked large group booking and not the wider community. Lots of small steps needed for us to fully reopen but we are working on it!

14.01.2022 Was lucky enough to bump into the crew at 7Ho FM radio station doing their live show from Swansea. It was a chilly day and Fire & Ice prepared lunches for the crew and had the opportunity to go on air and do some broader advertising of our café. So pleased the crew enjoyed what we do and we loved what they do too.

08.01.2022 Breakfast view from Fire & Ice Café this morning. We have now been open for 6 months. It has certainly been a journey and the team have really enjoyed. Every day has been different and you never really know what the day will be like. What does appear consistent is the positive feedback on what we do and how we do it. Winter is approaching and Fire and Ice will be looking at developing up our winter menu, reviewing our opening times etc. We would like to give our follo...wers the opportunity to voice what they would like to see from us over our "Winter Session". We will be closing for a short Period after Easter and look forward to incorporate your ideas where we can when we reopen. 08.01.2022 The second crop of figs are ripening nicely down the cafe. Used them to make another batch of Fig Paste (goes great with cheese and a good red!). The Easter bunny distributed to some of those doing it tough around the neighbourhood

06.01.2022 Season 1 is concluded. We have had a lot of fun. The staff have gone walk about after the Easter rush on Easter eggs ( well Egg and Bacon rolls at least). Its now time to take a few weeks off and develop up our Winter offering. Watch this space for Spoilers on Season 2.

05.01.2022 Fire and Ice getting closer to reopening. Same quality home made food but different setting. Playing around today, i made a parmesan artichoke starter followed by butter chicken curry pies with a twist for the family. When we reopen, watch out for what we do as it will be special and unique to us. We aim to be different and will continue to lead not follow with our menu!

05.01.2022 Footy returns to Swansea. Go the Swans. As the days get a tad colder how about dropping by Fire & Ice for our fantastic takeaway options and watch the game. We have burgers, egg & bacon rolls, fish and chips and coffees as well as an ever changing specials to grab and go!

05.01.2022 We continue to keep our hand in cooking meals at home. Nothing better than pork ribs and steak with very sticky Pav while in isolation. Some of these may well be on our future menu down at the cafe.

03.01.2022 Dear Customers, The reopening of Season 2 of Fire & Ice Cafe has been postponed. Since closing after Season 1 my wife has been undergoing 3 to 4 days a weak of specialist physio treatment for a very rare health condition. Thanks to a team of dedicated and innovative people (Paul, Barbara and Phil), the treatment at least in this country has never been tried before with someone with her condition. The results so far are positive and we will continue to focus on this in the ne...ar term. I have been working in the back ground to sub-lease the café to an party focused on fresh, home made healthy and good value eating. That still has not been finalised. While we continue to focus on my wife's health, I will continue to look at third party options until we are in a position to reopen ourselves. In the meantime we wish everyone a safe and enjoyable Christmas and New Year. Here's to a great 2020 to all. 02.01.2022 Mid Winter so pruning the fruit trees at the cafe (fig, pear, apple, peach and nectarines) in readiness for next season. Accommodation above the cafe is currently available to rent while the cafe remains closed as we focus on my wife's health. Please bear with us as we position for better times ahead.
