22.01.2022 At Liverpool Fire and Rescue we get our fair share of interesting and unusual accidents, but this one really had us scratching our heads. This afternoon we attended a Motor Vehicle Accident with Persons Trapped along with the crews from Macquarie Fields. Upon arrival, we found a car sitting in the tray of a light truck.... Crews set to work stabilising the vehicle by strapping it down to the truck. Then, using the Technical Rescues gantry platform, shears and a reciprocating saw, we were able to perform a side roof flap to access the patient, who was then assisted out and assessed by waiting paramedics. Just goes to show, Fire and Rescue really is #preparedforanything
21.01.2022 A bit of afternoon drill involving the PetroGen. A piece of equipment that uses a fuel and oxygen mixture to produce an incredibly hot, concentrated flame designed to cut through steel and other metals, such as railway track. With so many different pieces of gear on our trucks, it’s important to keep our skills up for when they are needed at an incident. #preparedforanything
20.01.2022 They came from across the sea to help our country in its time of need. Their bravery and sacrifice embodies the special bond between our two nations in the time of conflict or disaster. Here, they will be honoured and remembered. We extend our prayers to the families and friends of these extraordinary men. R.I.P

16.01.2022 Before, During and After. But seriously, this doesn’t help us. In the event of a fire, our truck carries roughly 2000 litres of water. Which may sound like a lot but in actual fact, runs out very quickly. We access hydrants to give us additional water at a fire. ... If you see a hydrant outside your residence, please, make sure it is clear of dirt and grass to help us to be able to locate and access it quickly. See more
15.01.2022 At approximately 1300hrs Today, our Rescue Pumper along with our Technical Rescue Vehicle responded to a unit fire in Liverpool. Upon arrival the resident advised crews that foodstuffs had caught alight on the stovetop. Liverpool crew donned breathing apparatus and was able to knock down the fire, limiting the extent of the damage using a CO2 Extinguisher. The resident was treated for smoke inhalation. ... This is a timely reminder to always #keeplookingwhencooking #preparedforanything
14.01.2022 Fire & Rescue NSW (FRNSW) will hold its annual Open Day on Saturday 18 May 2019 with fire stations across the State giving visitors a personal glimpse into Australia's busiest fire and rescue service. More than 80,000 people will attend Open Day at their local fire station. Open Day includes safety demonstrations, fire station tours and the chance to inspect firefighting equipment and trucks used by our firefighters when responding to fires and other emergencies. There is als...o an array of activities for kids. Visitors can also speak to firefighters first-hand about fire safety in the home, including how to install and maintain smoke alarms and how to develop a home escape plan to ensure they can quickly and safely escape a fire. For more information, contact your local fire station. Please also note that if you get to your station and it is closed, it may be responding to an emergency.

14.01.2022 We really do have an amazing community in Liverpool. Here we have the beautiful people from Chipping Norton Manoosh, who took it upon themselves to collect food and supplies for the weary fire fighters and victims of the unprecedented fires, not just locally but across the state. And the incredible people who took the time to visit them and donate what they could. Words cannot describe how blown away we are by the generosity of you all. So if you get a chance, go say Hi to the wonderful guys and girls at Manoosh. Word has it they make pretty amazing food too.(We know from experience....)

08.01.2022 Apologies for the poor lighting but these pictures highlight the unique challenges faced during a night time rescue operation. On 10/01/2020 at approximately 2200hrs, 008 Liverpool Stations Technical Rescue Vehicle, along with Fire and Rescue NSW Station 033 Engadine and Fire and Rescue NSW Station 054 Cronulla were called to a rescue incident involving a person that had become lost in dense bush land. Upon locating the person at the base of a steep cliff edge, rescue rope lines were established to access and lift the patient to safety where they were assessed and treated by waiting paramedics. #preparedforanything

03.01.2022 This afternoon #frnsw appliances from Fire and Rescue NSW Station 8 Liverpool were responded to reports of a car into a house accident. Upon arrival, Rescue Pumper 8 and Technical Rescue 8 discovered a Holden Commodore had collided with the front a house in Wattle Grove. FRNSW Crews identified that an area of bricks that supported the roof structure at the front corner of the house had been demolished in the collision. This had an effect on the electrical meter box. Fire Cr...ews used a device that detects electrical current to make sure the car and surrounding area was not live. The electrical authority was called to isolate the power from the street to the house. Initial stabilisation was put in place by the use of a hydraulic powershore to support the roof. A dislodged garage door lintel, roller door and bricks were removed to make the area safer to then remove the car. FRNSW Firefighters set up a timber cutting station in order to cut structural support timber, (carried on the fire trucks), to size. These timber lengths were placed inside the garage to pick up the load of the roof, to help prevent possible structural collapse. #TechnicalRescue #frnsw #PreparedForAnything Special thanks the Connor Lambert for the pictures.
02.01.2022 While a lot of our amazing firefighters are tending to the bushfires, it is easy to forget that for most firefighters, its business as usual attending to a wide variety of calls. With the dry conditions, our bovine friends are in search of water. Unfortunately for Daisy Cow , she ventured a little too far and became stuck in the thick mud. Our Rescue Pump and Technical Rescue Vehicle, along with Fire & Rescue 421 Station Picton, implemented our heavy animal rescue techniques and equipment to safely help her out of the water to her waiting calf and a bale of hay. #preparedforanything Fire and Rescue NSW
