19.01.2022 Does your building have a Fire and Evacuation Plan (FEP)? Does your building have Evacuation Diagrams? Is your building over 300m2? Every Business must have an FEP that describes the evacuation procedures for your staff. If your building is over 300m2 it also must have an evacuation diagram that identifies the exit routes for your staff to the nominated assembly points.... Evacuation Procedures give you and your staff the procedures to follow in the event of an emergency. How you plan, practice and implement the response to an emergency situation could be the difference between life and death for you and your staff. An evacuation diagram must show the following details: Evacuation signs and evacuation diagrams for a building must be appropriately located on each evacuation route of the building having regard to the number and location of exits in the building The route from (you are here) to the nearest exit Each exit of the building Any intercommunication devices in the common areas (e.g. Warden Intercommunication Points) The location of manually operated fire alarms (e.g. break glass alarms) The location of any fire fighting equipment in the building (e.g. fire extinguishers and hose reels) The designated assembly area outside the building.
