25.01.2022 RIGHT WING EXTREMISM AND SHOOTERS There is nothing new about this, and I was surprised last year when I heard that the Inspector General of ASIO reporting on the threat of right wing extremist groups last year. At the time I speculated upon the extent to which the threat is real in Australia. ... Such a development would be understandable in France or Germany, which have strong histories of extreme political polarisation, and where the very fabric of society is being changed in a short period of time by mass migration- but here? I have been contacted by one person who was subject to a raid, despite his advice to me that he had not been involved with a right-wing group for over a decade. This in particular effects shooters, because many shooters have politics that may be classed by some as 'right wing'. So, you have been warned. If you value your gun licence, watch whom you associate with, and what sites you visit. Remember, social media is a powerful profiling tool.

24.01.2022 Yes its prohibited. However, can we have a reality check please? This item is effectively no different to a spear gun used by spear fisherman and criminals are not exactly queuing to get them. It is limited by its slow reloading speed.... Why prohibit the item? I would have thought that sensible regulation was the only solution necessary.

24.01.2022 Post by Craig Golding who has re-energised the Shooters Union in NSW. One irritation though, is that delay is just the tip of the iceberg where the NSW Registry is concerned. The Registry need to aim to get decisions right first time, afford Natural Justice, provide Reasons for Decisions, and comply with the guidance provided by NCAT.... It is not really acceptable that NCAT clarify what they mean by 'practically no risk' and even after a number of decisions that reiterate this, the Registry continue to regard it not only as meaning 'no risk', but even go so far as to run cases based in their entirety upon speculation.

23.01.2022 Did you know organs are being forcibly harvested from human beings in China? 1.5 million innocent people - political prisoners, ethnic Uyghurs, and Falun Gong (...Buddhist Qi Gong) practitioners - are detained in prison camps and killed for the state-sanctioned organ transplant trade worth over $1 billion. 23.01.2022 Well folks, can we sign this petition please!

23.01.2022 I am having a bit of a chuckle, because it is interesting how Political poles are switched when one talks about availability of drugs or guns!, with the left favouring drugs and hating guns, and the right proposing the opposite. I am not criticising any politician for this, as their thought processes are the same as those of politicians globally, but I think the evidence shows that prohibition does not work, and that applies to everything, be it drugs, alcohol or firearms. Th...e reasoning for this is that there are always those prepared to break the law, and when they do, they effectively move in a de-regulated marketplace that is so profitable that it encourages people to do so. I have serious concerns about the Premier's policy though, as it is likely to have an explosive effect on drug consumption and increase the incidence of drug related car fatalities. Faced with the daft policy proposed, sensible politicians have no alternative but to oppose it. As for doing deals with the Greens- doesn't everybody? Can someone please start agitating for quality policy research in the field of drugs, alcohol and firearms, because these areas are so emotive, that one never sees sensible, measured laws in place anywhere!

23.01.2022 NSW FIREARMS REGISTRY I am not a great fan of the NSW Firearms Registry. My view is that it is the fruit of a poisoned tree- rooted by the poisonous seed from which it grew the so called flawed National Firearms 'Agreement'- which in reality was anything but. Former staff of the Registry have also told me of internal problems in Registry that result from difficulty blending a micromanaged Police command structure with the collegiate style of the public sector management. ... They have also spoken of resource and training issues which in our dealings with the Registry most of us can relate to. The Registry is also staffed by people. Many of whom when I ran a review area in Government, I would have been proud to select, train, inspire and lead. There are also some there who would have posed a problem for me, however that is one of the ‘joys’ of management, particularly in the public sector. What I am saying is that most of the problems that the Registry has, are not people based, and one needs always to separate the person from the problem. This year Murwillumbah and the far North Coast of NSW has seen bushfires, COVID, and now, just as people were settling down to the Christmas holidays- floods. It really has been a bastard of a year for us all, and I am sure that even if the Registry is not flooded or water damaged, many staff or their families shall experience the trauma of flooding. In your dealings with Registry staff please try to look past your own inconvenience and problems and acknowledge their difficulties and humanity.

22.01.2022 You can’t make this sh*t up. We can’t own toy guns. They can own assault rifles. The Liberal Democrats are against nanny state legislation and wasteful tax p...ayer spending. If elected we will move to disband the SRS and reverse the nanny state Gel Blaster rules. To become a member please follow this link: https://www.ldp.org.au/membership

21.01.2022 The Great Australian Society of Socialists & Snowflake's ('GASSS') has had yet another win with the forthcoming change to our National Anthem- which many of us who disliked it to start with, now have even more reason to do so. There is I believe no reason for First Australians (or those from the second wave of settlement of this great Isle as they are more correctly called), to be offended by the existing words. Before the formation of the Commonwealth of Australia, Australia... was not united, first peoples were a mix of language groups that lacked unity, and colonial government comprised of a series of colonies that subsequently formed into separate states. It was only the formation of the Commonwealth and subsequent collapse of the British Empire, that really created 'Australia' as we know it today. So the original wording of the Anthem is not incorrect, we are a 'young nation'. This is not to say that many of us would not be happy to debate the 'free' bit.

21.01.2022 The fundamental thing here, is he does not seem to understand what the Second Amendment is about. The RTBA has absolutely nothing to do with sporting use, other than in a handful of states, such as I vaguely recall Arizona, which lists hunting / recreational use as an additional reason for the right.

21.01.2022 I just watched an ABC News segment on 'international shooting in a pandemic'. Shooters got very good press from it, and it was heartening to see a large number of female shooters on the firing line and one very articulate young 19 year old woman, perform well in what was probably her first media interview. This is important, because young ladies like her are part of the next generation- our future.... I don't think anyone cannot stress the point enough- we need to become more inclusive or join the dinosaur. There are sadly many in the sport who wish to maintain shooting as some sort of boy's club. When pressed, there is no answer other than that is how we have always done things. That needs to change.

21.01.2022 NSC have highlighted a problem. Shooting groups, with a few exceptions, do not work together, and when jobs are filled, they tend to go through nepotism. The sad fact is that most shooting lobby groups in Australia have developed because either the person forming them have been unable to develop traction in another group, has fallen out, or more rarely there have been philosophical issues.... There are also the inevitable fall outs that occur that one hopes can be mended, for example there is one office in the fight that I now do not correspond with, or refer clients to because of the way a client of mine was treated. The only recent example I have been able to see where there has been close co-operation between a political party- SF&F and Shooters Union was in the representation of a Gel blaster club in Tasmania. It was from my understanding an example to us all. Both organisations worked together, and it did not degenerate into the proverbial peeing competition that inevitably occurs when alpha males work together. The Tasmanian’s are an example to us all. Unfortunately, the so-called gun lobby in Australia is not a gun lobby, it is a group of loosely knit groups run by warlords who each guard their own domain. We are like like England before Alfred. Now, does anyone have a hunting mate with a passion for burning cookies in the camp oven?

19.01.2022 THIS IS AN EMAIL THAT I HAVE JUST SENT TO THE HON JOHN BARILARO Hon John Barilaro Dear John... I understand that the NSW Firearms Registry is conducting a review of all NSW cross-border Clubs with the intention of cancelling NSW Club approvals. The NSW Firearms Registry has stated this is because it has identified general non-compliance issues ranging from non-affiliation with prescribed peak associations, incomplete administration of annual returns and/or inability to meet minimum active member requirements. The Sporting Shooters Association (SSAA) ACT is one of the largest clubs that would be affected, and a very large number of your constituents actively shoot at the SSAA ACT Range at Majura. Others who hunt, are required to maintain gun club memberships in order to maintain their R-licence certification, and thus ability to hunt on public lands. If NSWFR succeeds, then SSAA ACT, and a number of other, smaller gun clubs would cease to be an approved shooting club for NSW residents. This shall mean that to keep their licence effected shooters will have to join an NSW approved shooting club. There are limited options available locally, particularly when access to a club that has a range is a requirement. There is a small range between Berridale and Jindabyne that is an hour and a half away that shoots only some firearms disciplines, and the Goulburn range is barely functional as a result of, after over 100 years of operation, (and I believe no incidents involving gunshot injuries) changes to range template rules. Because of range template rules, and noise it is difficult to create new ranges. The Firearms Registry does not accept that shooters may be disadvantaged by this as there are ‘many NSW approved shooting clubs nearby’ (e.g., in Wagga, Goulburn, Cooma, Cowra, Bega etc.)- a curious observation that demonstrates little knowledge of distances in Southern NSW! I do not know the number of shooters directly impacted, but I would conservatively estimate that it would impact over 1,000-2,000 Monaro electorate-based shooters, because even hunters, as opposed to Target Shooters, who shoot on public land with an R- Licences, are required to be club members as a condition of their licences. Yours sincerely, Simon Munslow

18.01.2022 If someone is found guilty of an atrocity, I do not support the repeating of their name in conjunction with the event, because it has the potential to give them the glory that they seek, and also to breed copycats. However, in the case of Port Arthur there is an insatiable demand for information. This would not be the case if the government had handled the matter appropriately in the first place and allowed an inquest to go ahead.... The failure to conduct an inquest has potentially left Australia less well prepared in respect to further events and has bred conspiracies. What do you think?

18.01.2022 I counted ten at one point on last Saturday alone. The population is heading for crisis point. I would not call for the destruction of the entire horse population, because I would be somewhat miffed if trout, rabbit, fox and deer were wiped out in Australia, and I try not to be a hypocrite, however, reasonable control is needed.... Contrary to public myth, these are not the descendants of light horse stock. The horses that went to the Middle East were shot by their riders when they were no longer needed, as quarantine, the shipment cost back to Australia, and impact on local stock prices sealed their fate. Warfare is not a game of sentiment. Why is balance in respect to anything, so hard to achieve in Australia today?

17.01.2022 Again not firearms related, but I know that a considerable number of you have an interest in the Afghanistan war crimes allegations. This article highlights an interesting evidential point, and it may be that allegations is all many of the matters shall ever be.

17.01.2022 I have just read the Brereton report in respect to alleged war crimes by Australian special forces troops. The report can be found at afghanistaninquiry.defence.gov.au. Unfortunately, and for obvious reasons, most of the material dealing with the incidents is heavily redacted, but one gets the clear view that the incidents alleged are not of shootings of active combatants but rather the shooting of people who are hors de combat (out of the fight) or uninvolved in the fight a...nd perhaps running away for example ‘squirters’- unarmed civilians fleeing the area of military action. I suggest people read the report before commenting, and even then, they may like to withhold commenting until Court matters have been addressed. Comments about incidents bringing disgrace on Special Forces are I believe overly dramatic and politically correct fluff. One should not disgrace the majority because of the misbehaviour of a few.

16.01.2022 If anyone has any information regarding this, please assist Police.

16.01.2022 I just came across a lovely word that is in the vocabulary of the Royal Marines, which we hunters engage in: To Snurgle- (as a verb)- 'to crawl stealthily along the ground'. There you go, I bet you did not know you had a snurgle last time you went on a hunting trip did you? ... As a former Family Lawyer, I suggest you not tell your wife you had a snurgle on a trip, lest it be confused with a snuggle.....

16.01.2022 Warning hand sanitiser can set you on fire- do not use near an open flame.

16.01.2022 Old, but worth watching

15.01.2022 I have been doing some more reading after being grounded by another COVID test, and I agree with what is reported here. I have no problem with accountability- I don't care whether the law breaker is a Police Officer in Australia, or service personnel overseas in theatre. If a significant law is broken, let's prosecute. One thing common in the public service is a universal love of the ‘Octopus defence’. That is to say, when faced with a dilemma, you squirt a great volume of in...k and escape in the confusion. That is what I suspect is happening here. The Yamashita Principle was a 1946 US Supreme Court decision (admittedly) that a commander can be held accountable for the crimes committed by his troops even if he did not order them, or even know that they were being committed. It is about Command responsibility. A commander can be expected to know bad things would happen in theatre, and to put in place a mechanism to prevent them. Here we see a dangerous notion that Commanders are remote and did not know. I have no problem with trying 'war criminals'- but let us work out first who they are, and not leave out highly placed REMF's. Taking medals before trials and claims to compensate victims at this stage has all of the hall marks of a snow job or BS blizzard. This issue goes beyond the army, we have a culture of discouraging whistleblowing that the Government has promoted and indeed imposed. We also have a culture of shooting the messenger, including merit awards to units, thereby punishing also good soldiers who have blown the whistle. If what is alleged to have occurred has occurred, everyone concerned should be held to account, and not just the poor sleep deprived grunt making spur of the moment decisions in theatre. WHAT DO YOU THINK?

15.01.2022 This type of movie worries me because of the potential risk of it generating a 'copy cat' event by someone whose demented (or fermented?) mind somehow 'relates' to the character. What do you think?

15.01.2022 Those were the days. They only sold basic models and brands, but ammo prices were the most competitive of the day. The scary part was that staff did not know what they were doing , or understand safety, and on many visits one found a rifle or shotgun pointed at your guts whilst in the hand of an untrained member of staff.

15.01.2022 Memories. I did not have this FN, but I had a very realistic pair of duelling pistols. Nobody ever tried to rob or threaten anyone with them. With hindsight, the world seemed a kinder and more sensible place back then- with less over regulation, and a relative absence of stupid people doing daft things.

15.01.2022 I shared a SA Liberal Democrat advert below, and I did not want to 'shanghai' their post with unrelated commentary, so I am writing separately about the matter. 14.01.2022 I have been trying to stay out of the US election, but I concede defeat, and acknowledge I cannot. Australian shooters are justifiably concerned about a US Democratic government, and what it shall do to shooter rights there. One should always be prepared, and never underestimate your opponent, however, I am left wondering whether everyone is calling this wrong.... It is true that both Biden and Harris are anti-gun zealots, but if you look at the US voting pattern, all the Democrats hold is most of the Eastern and Western seaboard, and they also want to be re-elected, without the type of problem faced in the last two elections. If they want America to ‘heal’- read increase their voter support so they are not facing a run off next time, plus being in a position where they can control both houses and start to get things done, the one issue they would be stupid to broach is the RTBA, or consider stacking the US Supreme Court in order to achieve it, because it would further alienate the US heartland. I suspect all they are going to do, at least in a first term is make a little noise just to keep the anti gun faithful quiet and bide their time. The real risk is in a second Democrat term, should they be able to win it, and increase their support base. There are two other issues here- a US Supreme Court that is likely to apply Heller, plus, Biden and Harris are likely to have to deal with a hostile Senate, which I am sure is going to waste no time investigating Biden and his business relationships with Hunter Biden & the Ukraine, and then have a crack at impeachment, which should prove a massive distraction. That of course assumes no evidence of significant voter fraud is found. Some of the material some of you have sent me privately does raise some concerns, and that I concede.

14.01.2022 Those interested in claims of 'fraud' should watch this suit carefully. The suit has been brought by Texas and not Trump.

12.01.2022 HOLIDAY SEASON- SECURITY Many of you shall go away on holiday between now and the end of January. I suggest you down load the NSW Firearms Registry 'reduce your risk' brochure and self audit your firearms security.... Then ask yourself the question wether there is anything else that you could do to increase your firearms security.

11.01.2022 An OMG member, meets his God in WA... The West Australian has just run a story describing the shooting of a Rebel OMG leader as a ‘professional hit’ just because the shot was taken at a distance of about 160 M, and most OMG members would not have the ability to make a shot like that. I do not know about that, OMG members come from a variety of backgrounds. I have acted for a few who were keen shooters until their OMG membership was discovered.... 160 M is only 10 m over the playable length of 1.5 Rugby Union pitches. No half competent shooter would have any difficulty at all under typical conditions with a shot at that range- you would not even need a range finder or even adjust for bullet drop. Whilst most shooters could easily handle a shot at that sort of range, just about all would have difficulty with the notion of drawing a bead on another human being- even if he was an OMG leader, and there is plenty of psychological literature that would back me up on that one. Hit men use a variety of tools. A good assassin may not even choose to use a rifle or firearm at all. If one accepts that it was a ‘professional hit’ a normal hunting rifle has probably, in the eyes of a hoplophobic media, just become a professional sniper’s tool a 'snipers rifle', and I bet it had a black stock as well. We all know how the hoplophobe thinks. Shooters need to watch what they post, because we can be our own worst enemies.

11.01.2022 Just a quick note to wish you all the very best for Christmas and the new year.

10.01.2022 Who says MP’s, Policy Officers and Parliamentary drafters do not have a sense of humour? Britain has an act of Parliament called the Intelligence Services Act 1994. Section 7, or should I say section 007! provides for ministerial authorisations for people to break the law outside the British and Irish isles and then not have any criminal or civil liability for those acts in the United Kingdom- in other words a ‘licence to kill’.... Don’t believe me? Read below. 7Authorisation of acts outside the British Islands. (1)If, apart from this section, a person would be liable in the United Kingdom for any act done outside the British Islands, he shall not be so liable if the act is one which is authorised to be done by virtue of an authorisation given by the Secretary of State under this section. (2)In subsection (1) above liable in the United Kingdom means liable under the criminal or civil law of any part of the United Kingdom. (3)The Secretary of State shall not give an authorisation under this section unless he is satisfied (a)that any acts which may be done in reliance on the authorisation or, as the case may be, the operation in the course of which the acts may be done will be necessary for the proper discharge of a function of the Intelligence Service [F1or GCHQ]; and.

09.01.2022 Here we go again, more of the same from Auntie that is based on a false paradigm.... The journalist makes the bland statement that 'our gun laws have been so effective' without examining the peer reviewed literature. Even the NSW Chief Statistician is on the record as saying that they have not achieved what they set out to, but this journalist assumes they have. Amazing.... She would, to me have done more good analysing whether our current laws are measured, efficient and effective. Then she discusses guns in Finland without seeming to understand that aside from 'shotguns' there are a lot of rifles there..... At that point, I stopped being prepared to comment.

09.01.2022 So, availability here can be expected to continue to deteriorate.

09.01.2022 QLD AUDIT OFFICE REPORT A FB friend has just messaged and advised me that the Qld Audit Office has this day released an Audit on the Qld Firearms Regulatory process. I suggest you google it, and enjoy the read.

08.01.2022 BORDER RESIDENTS You may have received the attached from the ACT SSAA Secretary. I suggest you write letters as suggested by the ACT Secretary, but also write to the Hon John Barillaro if you are a Monaro Resident.... I hope this does not degenerate into a cross border SSAA membership wrangle unless SSAA NSW can provide a local range..... Sporting Shooters Association of Australia (ACT) Inc oeneacfacdnomahi.jpg Dear SSAA ACT member resident in NSW, SSAA ACT has been advised that the NSW Firearms Registry is conducting a review of all NSW cross-border Clubs with the intention of cancelling NSW Club approvals. The NSW Firearms Registry has stated this is because it has identified general non-compliance issues ranging from non-affiliation with prescribed peak associations, incomplete administration of annual returns and/or inability to meet minimum active member requirements. SSAA ACT is one of the Clubs that would be affected, despite all compliance requirements being met. If NSWFR succeeds, then SSAA ACT will cease to be an approved shooting club for NSW residents. To keep your licence and your firearms you will have to join a NSW approved shooting club. NSWFR does not accept that you may be disadvantaged by this as there are ‘many NSW approved shooting clubs nearby’ (e.g. in Wagga, Goulburn, Cooma, Cowra, Bega etc.). I can advise that SSAA ACT will be writing to the Registry stating that we do not accept this decision. We will be providing a detailed case to the Registry copied to the NSW and ACT Ministers for Police to show cause why these cancellations should not occur. SSAA ACT urges you to add your voice to ours to ensure a stronger and more visible representation to the NSW Firearms Registry. I attach a template letter to which you can use to send to the NSW Firearms Registry and both NSW and ACT Police Ministers, their contact information is included on the template. Regards Josephine King Secretary SSAA ACT Inc 0424 292 115 [email protected] 22 November 2020

08.01.2022 One thing not apparent from the email below is that this post impacts all shooters with NSW licences who are in cross border clubs. So if you live in Albury and shoot in Victoria, you had better nag the Hon Justin Clancy, a Liberal. ([email protected]) West of there, I think it likely to be Helen Dalton's turf. She is probably already across it, but give her a call anyway. ([email protected])... John Barillaro is of course [email protected] Sorry, I do not know too much about the MP's servicing our northern borders.

07.01.2022 Funny isn't it. We get over regulated, but in NSW and the ACT there are calls for crazy drug policies that simply call for blanket decriminalisation of drugs! without any impact upon suppliers. We have a lot of laws that do not work, and in keeping with the 'Opinion- Asshole rule', which sees everyone producing crap policy from their assholes, in an age where everyone is an expert, the problem is only going to grow.... Let’s start a call for sensible, quality policy research into efficient and effective laws related to gun control, drug control, social violence, so that we as a community can get the legislative mix right.

07.01.2022 I have just been reading the transcript of the NSW upper house, Firearms & Weapons Legislation (Amendment) Criminal Use Bill Committee and note that a number of us have for good reason, a critical view of the patchy approach of the SSAA in respect to lobbying. I have previously remarked that changes to management in NSW may lead to change in this regard. As most shall not read the Committee transcript and shall simply continue with their criticism of the SSAA, I wish to make ...it clear that in my opinion Jai Rowell did an excellent job representing the interests of SSAA members to the Legislative Council Committee. Well done Jai! I hope that aside from seeing the Act significantly modified, one of matters that the Department of Justice / Police policy officers learn from this process shall be not to put up poorly researched, knee jerk bills and expect it to pass the upper house unchallenged.

07.01.2022 Penrith RES investigators have charged a man with manufacturing prohibited firearms after seizing three homemade sub-machine guns at a property in Sydney’s west... yesterday. Earlier this month, officers from Penrith Region Enforcement Squad (RES) established Strike Force Elbon to investigate the manufacture of prohibited firearms in Sydney’s west. Following extensive investigations, Penrith RES, with assistance from North West Metropolitan Operations Support Groups (OSG), arrested a 45-year-old man at Smith Street, Penrith, about 3.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 23 December 2020). In a subsequent search of the man, officers located and seized $6,000 cash. A short time later, police executed a search warrant at a home at South Penrith, where officers seized 50 exhibits including three illegally manufactured sub-machine firearms. Further weapons including numerous firearms parts, ammunition, knuckle dusters, nun-chucks and an electronic stun device were seized. Investigators also located a stolen motorcycle, documentation and prohibited drugs including 1kg of iodine, and amounts of cocaine, methylamphetamine (ice) and heroin. All items seized during the operation will undergo further examination. The man was taken to Penrith Police Station and charged with possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority, three counts of possess unauthorised prohibited firearm, manufacture prohibited firearm without licence/permit and two counts of possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit. He was refused bail to appear at Penrith Local Court today (Thursday 24 December 2020). Penrith Region Enforcement Squad Manager, Detective Acting Inspector Ashlee DeBakker, said the homemade firearms have been seized for forensic examination. Our investigators have worked swiftly to respond to information relating to the manufacture of prohibited weapons in the local area and have successfully removed extremely harmful guns and weapons from the community, Det A/Insp DeBakker said. Police will allege in court this man was manufacturing powerful firearms in his home and along with the weapons, officers also seized instruction manuals and a variety of other firearm parts. The community should be reassured that our officers, together with police across the state, will continue to target those intent on causing harm to others, Det A/Insp DeBakker said. Investigations by Penrith RES are continuing. Anyone with information about the supply or manufacture of prohibited firearms is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence. The public is reminded not to report information via NSW Police social media pages.

04.01.2022 NSW Firearms Registry is at it again....... EMAIL FROM NSW POLICE REGISTRY Dear Club Secretary,... Notice of Intent The NSW Firearms Registry (NSWFR) has commenced a review of all lifetime NSW Club Approvals that have been issued to interstate clubs. During this process, the NSWFR has identified general non-compliance issues ranging from non-affiliation with prescribed peak associations, incomplete administration of annual returns and/or inability to meet minimum active member requirements. In consideration of the initial issue of the interstate NSW Club Approvals, the NSWFR acknowledges that there were historically geographical restrictions upon NSW Firearms Licence holders that necessitated principal membership with an interstate club. However, with the growth of the sport within NSW, the NSWFR maintains that required compliance can be fulfilled by membership with a NSW approved club in accordance with the Firearms Regulation 2017 [NSW] Part 10. The NSWFR notes that this does not limit future participation of NSW Firearms Licence holders from conducting shooting activities[1] at an interstate approved club that would satisfy compliance requirements as per the Firearms Regulation 2017 [NSW] Part 10 Clause 111. The NSWFR extends identified interstate NSW Club Approval holders the opportunity to cancel their NSW Club Approval by providing a copy of club correspondence confirming the decision to the NSWFR within 28 days from the date of this notice. We ask that in the event an interstate NSW Club Approval holder elects to cancel their approval, that they provide the NSWFR Clubs Unit with a current annual return in the approved format (attached alongside General Fact Sheet) detailing their current NSW Firearms Licence holder members. This will allow the NSWFR to apply due diligence in assisting these members to maintain their compliance in the transition period. Should an identified interstate NSW Club Approval holder elect not to cancel their approval or fail to provide a response within 28 days, the NSW Firearms Registry will issue a ‘Notice to Show Cause’ as to why the identified interstate NSW Club Approval should retain their approval and not be revoked in accordance with the Firearms Regulation 2017 [NSW] Part 9 Clause 98. So, basically, if you’re using and interstate club as your ‘Genuine Reason’ you may need to find an alternate club. Stay tuned......

02.01.2022 I question the extent of the 'spree'- the Australian Institute of Criminology did a limited examination earlier this year, but at best it was a snapshot, and far more work is required. In my experience- and my knowledge of this is anecdotal, much of the gun theft that exists in country areas arises as a result of a market that results from a profound sense of injustice geared to apprehended violence system that often sees people barred from firearms ownership for several year...s as a result of fabricated allegations. Such people often think, well if you are going to make me a criminal, I may as well be one, and buy a stolen firearm from a bloke at the pub. In short, it is crime that an unjust system has generated. Many of you shall be away over Christmas or January- please use this as a reminder to check your own security. By the way- I have deleted one post made below for the use of bad language. This page gets monitored, so please watch your tongues.

01.01.2022 Biden now says he sees himself as a 'bridge', and that others shall play a bigger role. I suspected this may be the case, because if you have a reform agenda, and want to get elected, why not pick as your candidate a person who is near retirement, and who, because he has not really achieved much in a long political career, can be regarded as a safe, conservative choice. The problem is, if he seeks to do some of the things mooted, he may just cause America's third civil war.... What do you mean by that you say? America has only had one civil war! Not so. The American Revolutionary war had all of the hall marks of a civil war. Only really after the Declaration of Independence, is it capable of being characterised as a war between nations. So, I would argue they have had two civil wars in 244 years.... Civil War is in the US DNA.

01.01.2022 ANDREWS HAS FALLEN UNDER 'CINDERFELLA'S SPELL'.... Not a firearms matter, but as a former family lawyer I feel a need to speak out about this madness. Those who know me know I am OK with someone being gay, however this has nothing to do with being gay, but has everything to do with madness and folly.... There are a small number of humans who are born intersex and do not fit neatly into either gender, and who need corrective surgery. Intersex is what used to be called being a hermaphrodite, and I do not think that any compassionate person would have a problem with their gender correction. There are also adults who may for some reason wish to go through a sex change, and I do not think we should stop them, providing they are not mentally ill. This is consistent with liberalist harm principle. However, there are other groups that seek gender surgery, including sadly many children who find life tough, find themselves embracing the notion that if they change their gender somehow all will well with their world, only to find that they have changed nothing. The leopard may aspire to look like a lion, but all he achieves in having a sex change is to feel like a castrated leopard, even when the result is cosmetically satisfactory. Tragically suicide often results. There is an entire support industry out there that encourages sex change processes that wishes to make the questioning its views illegal and the Andrews Government appears to have been drawn into their vortex. What do you think?

01.01.2022 F.R. Stockwell was a British officer of the old school who had a wonderful maxim about political meetings: ''Decide before you have a meeting whether it is meant to achieve anything substantive. If it isn’t, hold it in a good hotel. If it is, hold it in the desert, at noon, with no shade, and nowhere to sit''.... I feel the same way about most so called 'consultation' conducted by bureaucrats today. It is disingenuous, and simply intended to enable the bureaucrat to say 'we have consulted'. What do you think?

01.01.2022 There is a whole new generation of shooters out there who are oblivious to the 'reason' for the National Firearms Agreement. Many even support it, until they get a knock on the door... The article below highlights one of the reasons why there should have been an inquest into Port Arthur. After that, we could have examined what was necessary and proper to regulate firearms in Australia in an efficient and effective way.... Instead- we were blamed, and then over regulated.
