22.01.2022 The benefits of an organic vege garden. All veggies and herbs have been grown from seedings or seeds and all soil turned in with home generated compost. Seaweed solution is the only mix added to feed the plants and it must be doing a good job as the corn is eight feet high in just four weeks!

11.01.2022 It's the first flower of the season but how do I get such good looking Camellia flowers? Burying banana peels under the mulch and allowing them to break down over a few months releases potassium. Potassium is essential for fruiting and flowering in almost all shrubs and trees. Can't bury banana peels, apply a good quality liquid fertilizer to your soil instead on a regular basis.... Message us and ask how we can help your garden.

10.01.2022 It's Winter time ... So that means it's time for all thing garden and property maintenance. Today has been about pressure cleaning driveways as well as installing soil conditioner in order to get our client's garden ready for Spring. 1m3 of composted garden organics mixed with cow manure will condition the existing soil allowing for greater water retention as well as increased microbe activity.... The benefits? Healthier plants with access to more food, more available water in the root zones and less stress on hot days. All gardens were fed with a slow release granular fertilizer as well as a liquid fertilizer for those shrubs and trees (such as Camellias) that are growing and flowering prior to having the soil conditioner installed. Message us so we can see what we can do for your garden.

05.01.2022 Today was spent repairing damage done by the natural enemy of the domestic nature strip. With a scientific name of 'Australis Postus Motorcyclus' the more commonly known 'Postie bike' often leaves a well worn track from the letter box to the neighbour's house. A rich organic mix of soil and sand can fix this problem in around 14 days. ... Always remember to keep the water up to your lawn and top dress....

04.01.2022 One question that we are asked all the time is, 'Can you just top dress my lawn?' and the simple answer is no. It's not as simple as just applying a good quality top dress to your back yard. Applying a top dress is just part of an annual process to rejuvenate your lawn. Step one.... Mow the lawn short.... really short... but don't scalp it. That means don't cut it down to the roots. Keep some green! Step two. Aerate your lawn using a coring machine or spend the extra time using a garden fork to penetrate the surface and slightly 'lift' the grass up. This loosens the soil and allows water to get to the roots. Using a coring machine allows the new top soil to fill in the holes and supply fresh soil to the roots. Step three. Apply a great quality 80/20 mix. That's 80% washed river sand and 20% soil and composted organics. Only apply about 30mm thick. Step four. Use a levelling tool to make your top dress level. This will fill in dips and depressions within your lawn area. You should just be able to see the tips of the grass showing through. Step five. Apply a slow release fertilizer that is super high in nitrogen. Step six Water the top dress and fertilizer in to your lawn area. Use a strong jet of water to actively push the top dress into the root area of the grass. Use lots and lots of water. Step seven. Sit back and wait about 7 days for your lawn to grow and mow very lightly. Your lawn will look spectacular in just a few weeks. So there you have it. It's not just as simple as 'just adding top dress' to your lawn. Want a great looking lawn? Drop me a message
