24.01.2022 If you’re looking for ways to include your children on your wedding day, consider a special ceremony to help bring you all together. A circle of love ceremony A sand ceremony A rose ceremony... A wine ceremony (No the kids don’t drink the wine ) It’s just a really special way to make your children feel included and important on your beautiful day & a really heart felt way for you to pledge your own promises to your children

20.01.2022 Before becoming a photographer I used to see people posting their children’s cake smash photos and would often think to myself ‘Why the bloody hell would you let a child make such a mess with a beautiful cake’. And now I know why... Because it’s hilarious, it’s fun, the kids absolutely love it, it’s new to them, they’re exploring and learning, they’re living their best lives and it makes for fab photos of your little ones with about 100 different facial expressions Happy 1s...t Birthday little man Happy 1st Birthday Finn

17.01.2022 Wedding Tip # 2 For the Bride - Always allow yourself time between finishing your makeup & when you need to leave for your ceremony. This is Ssssoooooo IMPORTANT!!!! This magical day that you have dreamt about since you were a little girl absolutely flies by. You want to savour every moment you can and ensure that you have enough time throughout the day to be able to stop, breathe & take it all... in. Always allow yourself a solid hour if possible between finishing your makeup and getting into the car to head to your ceremony. Too often my beautiful brides finish their makeup (***see side note below for MUA timeline tip) and allow themselves about 20mins before needing to be in the car to go to the bathroom, put on the dress (20 mins for a tie back if your bridesmaids are fresh in the tying the dress up game), perfume, wrangle the kids, take phone calls, put on shoes, get the flowers, put on remaining jewellery, surprise Dad in their dress, have photos with Mum and Dad and bridesmaids and by this wall, on that couch, drink a champagne, pop the lippy in a bag, work our whose leaving when..... and then before they know it, they’re panicking... they’re anxious, they’re breaking into a sweat.... they black out to everything and then all of a sudden they’re walking down the aisle and their minds are completely off with the fairies. SLOW IT DOWN Give yourself time, if you have to start makeup an hour earlier, it’s better dragging your butt out of bed for an extra hour of the day than waking up the morning after your wedding not remembering much of your wedding day because you were so stressed. ***MUA are miracle workers, but they’re not psychics who can accurately predict the exact amount of time it takes to perfect yours and your bridesmaids makeup. When they ask you what time your ceremony is, let them know, but let them know that you’d like to completely ready an hour before you need to leave, maybe even an hour and half before (gives some buffer time just in case) Different skin tones, blemishes, face shapes, eyes and lips will vary the time frame from person to person so be open with your MUA about your requested time frame to ensure they don’t run overtime and into your ‘zen’ hour

15.01.2022 The past 2 months have been so busy I barely know if I'm Arthur or Marthur, I'm pretty sure I'm floating between the two :) But I honestly LOVE it... love love love it. So many babies, beautiful families and small intimate weddings have been among some of the session I've been doing & it's sooooo uplifting to be around so many happy smiling people considering the craziness that has and still is hovering over us all. One of those small intimate weddings filled with happy smili...ng people was the beautiful wedding of Deb & Ryan. They were married at the Hilton on the Gold Coast surrounded by their immediate families and it was just perfect. I first met Deb while doing a photoshoot for her promotional material for her singing career & we just clicked :) It was an honour to have been invited along to capture the beautiful moment she said 'I do' to her forever love, Ryan. 09.01.2022 How is it that teenagers get to just be ‘cool’ at everything (apart from house work of course ) Like if I just flipped a jacket over my shoulder and stood in front of a ‘stang’ trying to do ma ‘thang’, I’m pretty sure someone would run me over. 09.01.2022 For all the hours we count down until bed time All of the days we sometimes wish away For all the moments we’re tearing our hair out All the sleepless nights & long crazy days For all the mess throughout the house... All of the half eaten pieces of fruit For all the times you’ve sat on your bed and cried just wanting to take a break. For all of these trying times, there is a million moments amongst those hard times that make every single day a better day simply by having this beautiful little human being in your life. The moments, the hours, the days, they all disappear far too quickly and in a blink of an eye we’re wishing for time to slow down, for time to rewind, for a chance to do it all again. Enjoy the moments, the hard ones, the fun ones, the challenging and amazing. They all count

08.01.2022 Penny-Ann + Kevin These two love birds were married not once but twice due to covid last year. Their first wedding was at the Brisbane Registry Office (Again... not your average registry office... it’s gorgeous!!!) I was so lucky to have been part of 2 of their special days and both were equally beautiful

04.01.2022 That magical sunlight on your wedding day is always so beautiful. The very first sunset as husband and wife.

03.01.2022 For all of the beautiful brides out there planning their up coming weddings, I’ve had a bit of a think lately about some of the little tips and tricks that I’ve come across and thought I’d share some. For all of my past Brides, please feel free to share your own experiences too Tip #1 - If you are invited to a wedding as a guest... be a guest ... Most weddings that you will attend these days will have a beautiful sign set up at the entrance to the ceremony. It will usually read something along the lines of ‘Welcome to the wedding of ‘.......’ and their wedding date. Located somewhere to the left, right, front or back of that sign is usually another sign that reads ‘unplugged ceremony’. In a little smaller sized font it will basically request for all guests to either have their phone on silent or turned off, for no guest to take any photos throughout the ceremony & for no guest to post any photos to any social media platform before the Bride & Groom have So in a nutshell... Pop your bloody phones away! It’s an honour to be invited to be a guest on someone’s most special day. You can’t be fully in the moment if you’re too busy trying to take the same photos I’m taking. Sure you might snap a great angle, a few photos I wouldn’t be able to get in that very moment. But will you remember their vows or the look on their faces when they exchange their rings? Or will you need your iphone photos to remind you because you weren’t really ‘in the moment’? Do your Bride & Groom a favour, enjoy their moment & pop your phone away See more

02.01.2022 Jess + Ranos Yesterday I met with Jess & Ranos down at Broadbeach for a late afternoon maternity session and my goodness it was just beautiful. 02.01.2022 It’s been such a hard year for so many people for so many different reasons. One group of people who have certainly felt it has been the year 12’s finishing their final year of high school this year. Home schooling was the first shock to the system... for EVERYONE invlolved, but on top of that has been changes in their households, their communities, to general procedures at school, changes to what this years schoolies may look like & their formal!!! For most schools though, t...he students have taken on board the restrictions and have chosen to continue with having their formal and are making the most of what they have. It was so much fun snapping these beautiful girls before they headed off to their well deserved formal night. Keira Wright

01.01.2022 Wedding Tip #3 For the Bride & Groom - Be prepared for the downside of particular seasons of the year. So this may be odd to you but... If you choose to have your wedding in the months between October and March.... there’s going to be sweat! If you choose to have your wedding between mid May to end of August, by 5pm, people are going to be cold ...Continue reading
