23.01.2022 There is a current Watch and Act Message issued for this fire.The Cudlee Creek fire remains uncontrolled and continues to burn in a northerly direction. There are multiple townships and structures under threat.Winds are continuing from the South-South East and may push the fire towards Inglewood, Houghton and Chain of Ponds....Overnight activities have seen firefighters continuing to work towards containing the fire, asset protection and a small amount of mopping up.During the daylights hours crews will continue to assess the situation and work on further strategies to contain the fire, this may see some back burning operations take place, therefore the community may see areas of increased smoke. The community are asked to call the Bushfire Information Hotline on 1800 362 361 for further information or call Triple zero should you see flames.There will also be some heavy plant operating on the fire ground to assist with creating control lines.Other support agencies will also be in the area undertaking assessments to determine road conditions, assessment for power supply, areas of greatest risk and damage sustained to properties.There will also be aircraft operating on this fire throughout the day.A community meeting is being planned for later today, further information will be released once time and location has been confirmed.Road closures have been put in place in many locations and further roads are expected to be closed. SAPOL are in attendance. Visit www.traffic.sa.gov.au for a full list of closures.Roads will remain closed for some time due to the risks within the fireground associated with falling trees, road blockages and some areas of active fire activity and large amounts of emergency service vehicles.Members of the public are advised to avoid the following areas:Woodside, Lobethal, Inverbrackie, Charleston, Cudlee Creek, Brukunga, Lenswood, Mount Torrens, Gumeracha and Harrogate.Emergency Relief Centres have been established in the following locations: Highbury at the Turramurra Recreation Centre - 1000 Lower North East Road, Highbury and Mount Barker High School 2 Wellington Road, Mount Barker.Bushfire Safer Places located in Mount Barker, Murray Bridge, or the Adelaide Metropolitan area provide safety and protection against bushfires and a further list is available on the CFS website.Red Cross have a service that allows family and friends to Register, Find and Reunite with those that may be effected by this fire, if you wish to register visit www.register.redcross.org.auThis fire will continue to burn for several days and the community needs to be prepared. Enact your Bushfire Survival Plan now and know what you will do if the fire impacts you.
