07.01.2022 Our company had a call out this morning as a client advised this cavity sliding fire rated door would only close 1/4 of the way. What could be the problem? After investigating it seems like the air conditioner contractor thought it was a good idea to run his pipes in between the top of the door and track! We have never seen anything so careless. ... In accordance with (NOHSC 2018 (2005)) these doors must be clearly labelled and fully encapsulated. These doors however are neither. Most Fire rated doors from 1960-1983 were manufactured using friable Asbestos (Chrysotile and Amosite).
