23.01.2022 Here’s something different for you. A crew from 312 Gulgong spent the day in Bathurst today, after being responded to a major, multi-agency operation involving US Homeland Security. A 36 year old man was arrested as a result of the operation which has been targeting the alleged importation of firearm parts and drug manufacturing equipment into Australia from the US, Hong Kong, China, Germany and Japan. 22.01.2022 Firefighters from 312 Gulgong were responded to assist crews from 300 Gilgandra this morning with a serious motor vehicle crash involving two trucks. The incident occurred just after 5am, with firefighters working alongside the NSW Ambulance and State Emergency Service for over four hours to release one driver, who was subsequently airlifted to hospital. 20.01.2022 At approximately 1340hrs this afternoon, Pump 312, Rehab 312, Hazmat Tanker 387, the NSW Rural Fire Service and the NSW Police Force were responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a fuel tanker and a car at the intersection of Ulan Road and Bobadeen Road, north of Ulan. Much to the crew’s surprise, the four occupants of the car and the driver of the fuel tanker were completely unscathed. At least two hundred litres of diesel was spilt across approximately half a kilomet...re of the roadway, and with the assistance of Mid Western Regional Council, crews rendered the incident safe and reopened the roadway in both directions. 18.01.2022 Crews from 312 Gulgong remain in attendance at a truck rollover on the Castlereagh Highway at Cherry Tree Hill this morning, along with 342 Kandos and 105 Kelso, the NSW Police Force and NSW Rural Fire Service. 13.01.2022 A crew from 312 Gulgong are currently working at Clergate on Burrendong Way, just north of Orange at an overturned truck carrying water treatment chemicals. 11.01.2022 Shortly after 8pm this evening, Pump 312, Rehab 312 and the NSW Rural Fire Service were responded to reports of a truck alight at Bobadeen Road, Turill. Upon arrival, crews from 312 Gulgong commenced fire attack with two separate crews working in breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire and gain access to the rear trailer using hydraulic rescue equipment. The driver was unscathed, and managed to detach the trailer from the rest of the truck before the fire was able to take ...hold. The incident has now been left in the hands of the NSW Police Force, Mid-Western Regional Council and the NSW Rural Fire Service who will finalise extinguishment and prepare the area for the recovery of the trailer from the roadway. Motorists in the area can expect delays for sometime, well into the early hours of tomorrow morning. 10.01.2022 Just after 4pm this afternoon, firefighters from 312 Gulgong assisted a gentleman who had degloved a finger after a ring he was wearing snagged while he was exiting a piece of heavy machinery. Made of titanium, the ring proved a little more difficult to remove than standard rings, but, with a little bit of outside the box thinking, the ring was removed using a Dremel, and some very steady hands. The gentleman was conveyed to hospital for treatment, and will live to tell the t...ale. 04.01.2022 Yesterday we posted about our fundraising initiative, Beanies for Bridie. The initiative was set up by Fire and Rescue NSW firefighters to raise money for Bridie Jordan. This evening, we’ve added kids beanies to the line up. Bridie is the daughter of Damien Jordan, Deputy Captain at Fire and Rescue NSW Gilgandra 300 Station. Bridie suffers from Mainzer Saldino Syndrome, a rare genetic syndrome only diagnosed in around 20 others internationally. It effects bone growth and org...ans in the body. As a result of this, Bridie's kidneys are failing, and she's currently undergoing extensive treatment in Sydney, hundreds of kilometres from home. 03.01.2022 Just after 1800hrs this evening, Pump 312 Gulgong was responded to reports of a house fire in Mayne Street in Gulgong. Backed up by Rehab 312 and Pump 387 Mudgee, crews made entry into the home, finding the cause of the fire to be the chimney from the family’s fireplace, and were able to stop the fire spreading within the roof space. Thankfully, for the owners, only minimal damage was done to the house, and they’ll be able to return to the house this evening after everything ...gets checked out by a licensed electrician. Stay safe, stay warm, and make sure to clean your chimney!
