23.01.2022 Each November I run a 10 to 12 day tour traveling around Victoria, taking in many of the best birding sites the state has to offer and targeting the most saught after birds found in the region. This year's 2020 trip is full and will hopefully run. The 2021 and 2022 dates are now set and itinerary is available to download. Trip reports from previous tours are also there to read. 22.01.2022 Tours on hold again with the latest Covid lockdown. Still quite hopeful for some spring touring. We are currently restricted to 5kms travel and one hour "birdercise" a day. So have gone back to where I began, as a young lad exploring the local parks and gardens, and sticking my head in the undergrowth at local ponds and creeks. Actually quite enjoying it, and Melbourne's suburbs have some fantastic birds.

21.01.2022 Do you feel like a BIG birding trip right around Victoria ? I have ONE place in my car spare for this post-Covid lockdown tour. 15.01.2022 Tours up and running again. Excellent rainfall this year, lots of winter flowering eucalypts and early wildflowers. Now close to the winter solstice and our birds will be thinking of spring.

09.01.2022 Tours re-commencing. Recent easing of restrictions here in Victoria mean that licenced tour operators can now operate again, following government guidelines regarding health and safety. It has been a difficult time over the last few months but controlling this virus comes before any other considerations. Happy to say I can again offer birding tours safely and in compliance with current guidelines. Cannot wait to get out there again. Meanwhile our wildlife has carried on pretty much as normal !

09.01.2022 During early December 2020 we managed to run the 10 day Megatour, on a delayed date and with reduced numbers due to the Covid virus situation. Feeling very fortunate to have been able to run this trip, and am feeling for so many friends and family overseas in a much worse position. 06.01.2022 Tours resumed in November last year, after the long Melbourne lockdown of 2020 2021 has been a busy time already. Whilst visiting many of the top birding sites in central and southern Victoria we’ve recorded around 200 birds this year with successful tours have been run for newcomers to birding as well as more seasoned birders chasing the tougher to find species. It is already looking like a busy year to come despite the unfortunate lack of international visitors to our shores. So many great locations to visit and so many birds to find Can’t wait ! 01.01.2022 Birding Victoria Website to receive a boost. With some spare time up my sleeve will be adding to the available free resources The website already has many site descriptions and notes on where to find certain species in Victoria plus links to other useful sources of information to assist anyone wanting to go birding here.. But there is scope for much much more !... So will be updating existing content and then adding extra birding site descriptions and extra species notes. The intention eventually, when the time is right, is to make this a stand alone resource separate from my commercial tour information and available for others to contribute. Needless to say all birding tours are on hold until we get this virus outbreak contained. I am quite hopeful that by the spring here in Victoria ( September/October) we will be hitting the road again.
