24.01.2022 My trickiest fabrication yet. Harder than the air warfare destroyer mast sections

23.01.2022 Making a 17m "wagon wheel" with 0.5mm per section after machining.

22.01.2022 Fabrication of some frames. Usually I'd be fabricating and welding but too many only welders.

20.01.2022 17m frame 200mm bow after welding, less than 2mm after using heat for distortion rectification.

15.01.2022 Machining some pins for 1mm play for plates to fit jig.

10.01.2022 Mainly been away working projects and shutdowns in the power and mining industries. Worked on a shredder refurbishment early January. Plenty of gouging and heavy plate FPBW flux core 75 mm to 100 mm plate

09.01.2022 Machining some backing rings for heavy hollow bar. Stepped and one end tolerance fit for adjustment while the other end has a 10mm step and machined to interference fit so it can be hammered into place.

09.01.2022 Carrapateena Mine build

07.01.2022 Carapateena mine steelwork.

04.01.2022 CAD rounding, the difference between 4 degrees or 4.50754918 degrees and engineers wonder why they aren't liked.

04.01.2022 After welding there was about a 200mm bow but these pictures are after a bit of heat and patience.

03.01.2022 Due to poor engineering design by overwelding this had a 25mm curve from end to end, but a little heat and a lot of experience it's within 2mm anywhere. Thought I had a picture of the bend but not.

02.01.2022 With all the welding involved distortion is always a factor. North end 3mm under radius, 2 3rds of the center area 4mm over radius and South end 1.5 under radius. With a bit of heat applied in the right spots back to right on and maybe half a mm in a couple of spots.
