12.01.2022 GREAT OPPORTUNITY!!! The traineeships will be hosted by the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment with the program promoting an opportunity for A...boriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who are interested in working in government and have a passion for protecting our country from animal, plant and marine pests and diseases. There are 5 trainee positions in total: Two positions in Cairns Three positions in total from potential locations of Bamaga, Thursday Island, *Yam, *Badu, *Mer, *Moa, *Masig and *Erub. * Part-time 30 hours a week (5 x 6 hour days) The program will run for 24 months starting in late June 2021. The trainees will be based in the communities, training along-side experienced biosecurity and administration staff. Trainees will graduate with many new skills and certificates; including Certificate in Government (regulatory compliance). Certificate in government is a highly desirable qualification for most entry-level compliance jobs for government agencies.
