24.01.2022 Hi Playgroup families. We hope youve been keeping dry and warm the last few days while its been a bit wet and cold. Our friends at Shire Salvos in NSW have an playgroup called Music and Play every Friday at 10am. Just like us, they cant have people come to them at the moment, so theyre doing weekly videos of the songs that they would have sung together if they were meeting in person. Some are songs that you might already know, and others could be new to you. Check out this weeks video in the link below and maybe have a look at some previous weeks as well. Let us know which is your favorite song this week!

22.01.2022 Have you noticed the different colours of leaves on the trees at the moment? Maybe youd like to go for a walk with your children and collect some Autumn leaves and then make a picture with them, or take a photo of something interesting on your walk. Share what youve been doing so that we can stay connected even though we cant hang out together at the moment.

14.01.2022 This weekend would have been our Red Shield Appeal annual Doorknock. You would have seen us at traffic lights, outside shops, and with enough volunteers, we would have been knocking on your front door. However this year we are doing things a little bit differently. If you would normally have thrown us a few coins through the car window, popped some in a tin outside the shops, or emptied your purse into a volunteers collection kit, please think about donating on line this weekend. Were a long way from our $5000 goal and need extra help! https://digitaldoorknock.salvationarmy.org.au/t/castlemaine

08.01.2022 Playgroup families - we need your help! Normally at this time of year we would be doing all sorts of creative things in the community to raise funds for our annual Red Shield Appeal - but we have to do it a little bit differently this year, so were asking you to support us with our digital doorknock. There are three ways you can help make a difference for others in our community: 1. Join our digital doorknock team, and help us raise money for people in crisis in our local co...mmunity 2. Make a direct donation to our local work, or 3. Share, comment or like our post to help spread the word of our Digital Doorknock. And please, if you are in need of help or assistance, you can always send us a direct message on our Facebook page. The link below will take you to our donation page. Thank you for whatever you can do to help. https://digitaldoorknock.salvationarmy.org.au/t/castlemaine See more

04.01.2022 Always a fun day for the family.
04.01.2022 Hey all our playgroup friends. Due to current and future restrictions we will break for the holidays a week early. This means we will not meet this Monday however I invite you all to share photos of an Easter craft you have made that we all might be able to also make at home. There are plenty of other child friendly activities you can do with your little one at home. I get alot of ideas from Pinterest. If at all you do feel overwhelmed with isolation please send me a message or give me a call. We are all in this together and I would love some of your inspirational ideas for my own childrens entertainment. See you when its over. Vicki Kerin. Xx
03.01.2022 Are you the parent of a child under two? Be part of a new walking group in Castlemaine for families with children under two years of age. Facilitated by the M...ount Alexander Early Years Steering Group, the group meet Fridays at 9.30am, at the Castlemaine Botanical Gardens rotunda for a chat and a lap of the gardens. With restrictions easing and the weather warming up, it's a great time to get outdoors, do some gentle exercise and connect with other families. A steering group member will be there to further connect you with other activities and services that are available in the shire. This is a COVID-Safe event and we ask that participants wear a mask (unless exempt) and practice social distancing. For more information, contact Edwina Reid, Early Years Project Officer, Mount Alexander Shire Council on 0439 189 148 or [email protected] Read more about the event here: https://bit.ly/MtAlexEYWalkingGroup
02.01.2022 This Monday is the last playgroup for 2019. We will be at the botanical gardens playground. Dont forget to bring a plate of food to share. Santa will visit and it will be a nice little relaxed end to our year.
02.01.2022 Check out some of these activities. I know it would have been school holidays today but under the circumstances might be good to do a playgroup activity occasionally. Enjoy spending time together.
01.01.2022 We are back...in the morning, 10-1130. Coloring fun and outdoor play. Older siblings on curriculum day welcome.
01.01.2022 This week marks the beginning of NAIDOC week when we celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We have asked the children in our church to colour in a sheet from their worship pack this week and take a photo of it with their hands or feet touching the ground. You might like to write out the words for your child and take a photo to put in the comments section as well. See the image for more details.
