22.01.2022 Today the team came together for a massive PD day. With the assistance of Michael Eburn PhD, Cam Anderson MDisMgt from DHHS and Andy Hansen from Healthcorp, the team covered a range of topics from first aid law, to respiratory emergencies and the corona virus, and the latest updates related to our RTO. After some team building exercises, we are out to a lovely dinner to round out the day. Its also a great way to thank our team for all their amazing work.

22.01.2022 Weve got a court side seat at the brand new Ballarat Sports and Events Centre (B.SEC) for the Melbourne United vs Illawarra Hawks match tonight. This is purely for work honestly but we do get the chance to watch the game. When the room fills up, there will be around 2,500 spectators that we are here to care for. Its going to get loud as Ballarat turns out to support big games coming to our home town and First Aid Training Group is proud to be supporting the Ballarat Basketball Association tonight.

22.01.2022 The weather may seem mild but now is when asthma and hay fever begin to kick up. Check your action plan is up to date, your medications are up to date and in enough quantity, and if you notice any changes from your normal pattern, talk to your GP or pharmacist. Know what to do in a respiratory emergency. #knowfirstaid #learnfirstaid #ballaratsownfirdtaidtraininggroup #firstaidtraining

22.01.2022 Anyone can come across a situation where they need to perform CPR to save another's life. This could be on anybody, so it is important to know the difference between performing CPR compressions on an adult vs a baby . Remembering what to do in these circumstances can be stressful, which is why we want to help you! Book a course at First Aid Training Group and let us help you help others!

21.01.2022 Our DIrector, Peter, is passionate about public safety. He was excited to deliver a new defibrillator to our new client, YMCA. Recently, he provided a training session on the new device to the Ararat YMCA OSHC team which was well received. Your group can help save a life by installing a defibrillator and they are not as expensive as you may think. We even have a lease option for one of our more popular models. Give us a call today.

20.01.2022 There are many measures that we can take to prevent the spread of this disease. It will take a whole of community response not just a whole of government one.

19.01.2022 While we are still experiencing some difficulties, our 1300 number has now been diverted through to our landline number now. We are still continue to provide you with our excellent service and you should not experience any further difficulties.

18.01.2022 We have a new post on our blog from our Operations Manager. Something that is very relevant in this pandemic. We are going to be posting regularly and would love to know if there are any topics that you want covered.

18.01.2022 Did you know that First Aid Training Group proudly provide event first aid support to Ballarat’s own Miners and Rush basketball teams? Our very own Operations Manager, Ian is keeping his skills up to date tonight at the local games. First Aid Training Group can provide qualified professionals for your events. Contact us for a competitive quote on 1300 705 002 or via email [email protected] and speak with our friendly staff. Your event could not be in better hands.

17.01.2022 Did you know that First Aid Training Group is Ballarats own first aid provider? Founded by locals born and bred in Ballarat, we continue to provide top quality training and services to the Ballarat community. Starting by delivering courses operating from and supporting other local businesses, Peter and Kerry have rapidly grown the business. They moved into 826 Latrobe Street in Delacombe around four years ago. Initially there were only a few courses a month. We have now g...rown to three to four courses per week. That doesnt take into account our ever-growing private client base with courses delivered both onsite and in our training facility. We offer some of the highest number of courses in any week for any one provider in town and the cheapest prices for training in Western Victoria. Our trainers are all industry-experienced with extensive backgrounds in the fields that they teach. Be that first aid or fire, we have no one with less that ten years in their chosen profession; some extend to decades of real-life experience. Our clients include schools, government departments, industrial workplaces, businesses and private students. We provide first aid event services to some of Ballarats top events. Our kit restocking division keeps many of Ballarats businesses up to date. Even our drug and alcohol testing section has begun to take off. For bookings into our courses, go to www.firstaidtraininggroup.com/courses/ For our other services, you can check out www.firstaidtraininggroup.com Or call us on 1300705002 where you will speak directly to us and not a call centre. We are Ballarats own First Aid Training Group - Skills for life.

17.01.2022 ** GREAT NEWS!! ** Online theory and short-duration face-to-face practical and theory assessments are now available. However, in accordance with todays State Government press release, "from Sunday, August 2nd at 11:59pm, a face covering will be mandatory whenever you leave home and wherever you live." All participants will be temperature tested and those displaying symptoms related to COVID-19 or with temperatures greater than 37.5C will be rescheduled.... All participants will need to provide and wear their own face mask when attending courses.

17.01.2022 The management and training team are here in Sydney for the annual Healthcorp trainers conference. The flight up last night gave a good view of how much the smoke from the NSW fires impact the upper atmosphere. Looking forward to networking with other training partners from across the country, learning of the changes to training packages and updating knowledge on various aspects of first aid. More information to follow as the conference gets underway. Dont worry, the office is still manned today and we are able to check emails although there may be some delays in responding.

17.01.2022 We are pleased to announce that we are still conducting training albeit with fewer courses on our timetable. This reduction in service will be in place for the next six weeks of restrictions. They will be morning-only courses at this stage. Should the demand increase, we will consider adding more courses as necessary. Please see our website (www.firstaidtraininggroup.com/courses-main/) for available dates. No full-day, face-to-face training will be run during this period. Social distancing, temperature testing and masks (unless an exception applies) will be required. Masks are available at reception on the day.

16.01.2022 Our Operations Manager, Ian Eyles, has been accepted in to the Victorian Branch of the Australian Resuscitation Council taking over as the FATG representative from our Managing Director, Peter McMahon. His many years of experience both in training and as an Ambulance First Responder will stand him in good stead, learning from the pre-eminent people and research into best practices in first aid. We wish Ian all the best.

16.01.2022 Tomorrow (November 21st) has been declared a Total Fire Ban for the entire state ahead of some of the worst fire conditions in ten years. The Mallee and the Northern Country have been declared as Code Red which is the highest fire danger rating possible. It is highly recommended that residents in these fire districts move to safer areas in case a fire starts. Fire behaviours will be unpredictable and even the best prepared homes may be indefensible in these conditions. We ...remind all of our followers, no matter which district that they are in, to be watchful for fires and to prepare to implement their bush fire plans. Keep up a steady supply of drinking water, stay out of the direct sun during the worst of the day, and keep an eye on your elderly and infirm neighbours. Strong winds and possible dry lightning strikes are predicted from the afternoon onwards as a change passes through the state. Make sure you have torches, identity and valuable documents, spare clothes and medications, a battery-powered radio, charging cables and your first aid kit ready to hand if you need to leave. For further information and updates if anything occurs, listen to your emergency service broadcasters, check the VicEmergency app and look at the CFA website.

16.01.2022 FastAid Thank you to FastAid for their generous donation of Medical Trauma Kits to the emergency services of Bhutan. I am proud to be presenting these to Bhutans Prime Minister next week. These kits will greatly assist professional firefighters to make an effective intervention during incidents at the four major airports in this tiny nation. FastAid provides a huge range of compliant high-quality first aid and medical supplies.

15.01.2022 First Aid Training Group (FATG) are happy to announce that we have entered into an agreement to support Basketball Ballarat in providing first aid services, training and supplies. This is a significant engagement with Basketball Ballarat and we are proud to work in partnership with them, says First Aid Training Group Director Kerry McMahon. The deal will see responders from FATG supporting tournaments and championships. Additionally, restocking of first aid supplies will ...be maintained at both Mars Minerdone and the recently renovated Ballarat Sports and Events Centre (BSEC). Recently, the new first aid room was named at BSEC under the sponsorship deal and the team from FATG has set up the room ready for both domestic games and State and National tournaments. This will keep both major basketball venues at a consistent standard for first aid support. We have had a long, productive relationship with Basketball Ballarat. This deal sees great cooperation between organisations within Ballarat. Its good for the local economy and secures employment for the foreseeable future., says FATG Operations Manager Ian Eyles.

15.01.2022 ***UPDATE*** Well that went quickly. Sorry, folks, but the available spaces on the 30th have now been booked. We still have many more options between now and the end of the year. Check out our calendar for more options. We are happy to announce that due to some shuffling of bookings, our full-day, face to face public first aid course on September 30th is open again. Check out our website (https://firstaidtraininggroup.com/courses-main/) or call us today to book in.

15.01.2022 Everything has been on hold for quite some time. That's meant you've had to wait to do your first aid training, right? Well, wait no more! While restrictions are slowly easing, the team has been building up our training dates to normal levels again. This is the right time to get in ahead of everyone else for your new or renewed first aid training. Life can be difficult right now so we have been running a new option for you. Using our blended learning option, you complete ...most of your theory online then come in for face to face assesments. For CPR, that means only an hour in the classroom. For first aid, three hours and for HLTAID004, four hours. This shorter time frame means less time away from work and allows us to offer twice as many courses. Each day that we run a course, you can select from either a morning or afternoon session. We are still offering full face-to-face courses although now only two-three times per month. If you aren't confident with computers or this is your first ever course, we recommend that you choose this option. Want to work out when? Head over to https://firstaidtraininggroup.com/courses-main/ or call us on 1300705002 to make a booking.

15.01.2022 *** In accordance with the Commonwealth Government announcement made March 29th, 2020, all face-to-face training is now suspended. *** While face-to-face training has been stopped, our non-contact ECO and drug testing courses, consulting services, and some limited-contact services are still available. We are offering our nationally-accredited Warden and Chief Warden courses via video conference. Using a tool called Zoom, students call in from their home or office and inter...act with the instructor. The enrolment form and all assessments are emailed directly to the student who completes them during the course. The completed paperwork is then emailed back to us for marking. For further information, please contact us through phone, email, Facebook Messenger, or JivoChat on our website. To be clear, all first aid, low voltage rescue, extinguisher, asthma and anaphylaxis training will not be running until we are advised otherwise by the government. Please monitor reputable media sources for updates from the government. For further information regarding training and COVID-19, go to the Department of Health and Human Services website.
