23.01.2022 Our Head Coach, Alex, is participating in the March On for Soldier On Challenge to raise funds and awareness to support the amazing work Soldier On does for current and ex-serving Defence personnel and their families in Australia. The challenge is to walk 96km - the length of the Kokoda Track - during the month of March. Alex regularly walks more than 3.1km per day (which equates to 96km a month), and has thus decided that to complete the challenge he will add an extra 96km of walking to his schedule. As such he has decided on a route from Springwood in the Blue Mountains through western Sydney and finishing at @9degreesparramatta. He will be posting updates so you can keep up with his progress. 19.01.2022 A massive couple of weekends for the First Ascent Team with athletes competing in Opens and Youth at NSW Lead and Speed Titles in Sydney. Our squad walked away with plenty of medals and exemplary results and have a good appreciation of what they need to work on towards Youth Nationals. Great work team! You may have also noticed our athletes wearing PPM caps on the podium - we are excited to have Property Preventative Maintenance on board as a sponsor the First Ascent Team in ...2020! PPM provide fire safety and commercial property maintenance services in Sydney, and are supporting our athletes with their Youth Nationals registration fees. A massive thanks to PPM for supporting our team. If you or someone you know is interested in supporting grassroots sports, please DM us and we can provide you with our available sponsorship packages. We will be announcing several other new sponsors in the next few weeks! by Dan Andres #firstascent #climbing #sportclimbing #competition #youthathletes #kidcrushers #athletes #training #c_l_i_m_b #climbing_is_my_passion #climbing_pictures_of_instagram #proudcoach See more
19.01.2022 An official IFSC position has finally been announced - postponement of the Oceania Championships. Not a surprise but glad that plans are still being developed to give the athletes a chance at competing for the Olympics. More time to keep training!! #firstascent #climbing #bouldering #sportclimbing #olympics #olympics2020
