20.01.2022 Restumping, re-levelling and adding concrete stumps: For houses on stumps, restumping becomes a necessary requirement about every 20 years. Get your house restumped to correct sloping floors, cracked plaster work, doors not closing correctly, windows becoming out of place and an assortment of problems associated with uneven foundations to the property. To restump or reblock your house, the house will need to to be first jacked up and supported. The stumps are then removed and replaced with concrete stumps that last for longer.

During restumping, jacks are used to support the floor while the worn out/ damaged foundation is dug out and removed. New concrete stumps are then placed into the foundation to form a stable, safe and solid base for the house. 15.01.2022 Underpinning: Underpinning is the process of strengthening and stablising the foundation of existing homes. This is done when the property shows signs of structural movement or the existing foundation is no longer strong and stable enough due to overtime soil changes. Apart from soil changes, there are other causes which may lead a house to need underpinning like: The old wooden stumps that support the foundation may have decayed.... A structural change may have caused the weight distribution to change. Dampness in underlying soil may have caused a change in the properties of the soil. Underpinning is mostly for homes that have brick veneer walls and a foundation of concrete slabs. With time and damage caused from natural elements, the slabs may crack or sink in some places.
