First Drop reds, even at their heftiest, seem to retain a distinct freshness and lift - a prime example here. Blackcurrants, ripe plum, mocha and dried seaweed scents and flavours, supple, molten tannins and an undercurrent of graphite mineral character and cranberry acidity. Such an impressive wine for its mellifluous feel too. Super stuff.
