25.01.2022 IMPORTANT CHANGES FOR ALL LEARNER DRIVERS. Please read and leave your fav emoji below Queensland’s hazard perception test (HPT) is changing to improve road safety. LEARNER LICENCE... From Monday 29 March 2021 all learner licence holders must pass the hazard perception test before upgrading their licence. To get your learner licence and progress to the next licence class, you will have to complete the following licence requirements: PrepL Hazard perception test Learner logbook (for learner licence holders under 25 years) Practical driving test P1 licence Before Monday 29 March 2021, if you hold a P1 licence you are required to pass the hazard perception test before you can upgrade to a P2 or Open licence. You need to hold your P1 licence for a minimum of 12 months before you will be eligible to take the hazard perception test. If you have an email address registered with the Department of Transport and Main Roads, we'll send you an email to let you know when you can take the hazard perception test. Delighted that First Gear has grown and become the school of choice for so many of our past and present students to which we have had thousands and helped close to 600 gain their P’s and set them on a safe driving journey. We now have 3 cars operational with 2 more ready by end of March across the Gold Coast and greater Logan areas with plans to add more and include motorcycle and HV training by the end of 2021..!!, exciting times ahead. 08.01.2022 Good Morning all, happy to share news announced today by DTMR of the resumption of practical driving tests, with bookings to reschedule open from Monday 8th June and actual tests starting from Monday 15th June - This applies to our students who had a test booked then cancelled on or before 9th April....For students who had tests booked and then cancelled after 9th April, then we can make bookings from Monday 22nd June - we shall endeavour to contact everyone individually to d...iscuss but please be paitent as you can imagine the blitz coming our way now! :-) In addition DTMR have also opened up a priority test booking system for those that didnt suffer a cancellation, but may now be eligible by usual means i.e age, approved log book etc, but one of more of the criteria below must be met - 1) critical for employment 2) to access medical treatment for themselves or family members 3) to get to or from their educational institution 4) other exceptional circumstances Their is an application process to go through so if you feel you may qualify you can acces the for on the DTMR website or we can email you a copy Happy to answer any questions where and when we can in the meantime...lets go get some P's..!!
