04.01.2022 Today we are celebrating Earth Day (April 22), a day where we raise awareness about environmental concerns and drive positive action for our planet. While none of us are perfect, it’s about taking small steps to be more environmentally friendly and sustainable. A big step for us was launching our EXPRESS product; which doesn’t just make parking simple and easy, it uses LPR (License Plate Recognition) technology so there’s no need for paper tickets! 04.01.2022 ** FIRST PARKING PROFILE ** Today is International Women's Day, a day to recognise the amazing, strong, talented women in our lives. To celebrate, we caught up with Laura Bailey, our fantastic Customer Experience Executive and asked her a few questions, so you can get to know the woman behind the First Parking screen (or phone line). Can you explain what your role is at First Parking?... Primarily my role is focused on customer service, however with First Parking being a start-up, I get the opportunity to do many things. What’s your favourite part of the job? Helping customers you get to speak to, and build relationships with, so many different people. What do you believe you bring to the business? Hard work and dedication, not to mention English banter and keeping the team on their toes! The ultimate interview question are you a sweet or savoury person? 100% sweet I’m a self-confessed choc-a-holic! What is your proudest achievement personal or professional? Booking a one-way ticket to Australia to start a new amazing life! What does International Women’s Day mean to you? A day to recognise the achievements of women and to bring awareness to the inequality some women in the world still endure. Do you have a favourite quote? Treat others how you wish to be treated. What is your favourite book or film? Man on Fire, what a classic. What business advice would you pass on to younger women? Do what’s going to make you happy long term and don’t be afraid to put yourself out there and make ballsy decisions. You get to invite three guests to dinner. Who are you inviting and why? David Attenborough, who doesn’t love his calming voice and amazing stories. Rebel Wilson, so that we can sing some Pitch Perfect songs together. My Mum and Dad (I’m sure they can count as one!), they are my rock and I haven’t seen them in 2 years. And last, but not least pineapple on pizza? It’s a no from me. Fruit has no place on a pizza! While there were more questions, we would have loved to ask Laura, we needed to keep it short and ‘sweet’. As we all know, Diversity is key in building a team and here at First Parking we are extremely lucky to have a diverse team and a fantastic woman like Laura in the mix!
