24.01.2022 First Steps Count Board of Management had an amazing planning session yesterday, identifying key priority areas for the next 12-18 months. The sod-turning ceremony has reignited the passion and reminded us of our purpose - it's all about the kids. All kids. It will be a place for kids to learn and grow as well as engaging parents, enhancing their skills for younger generations. Children first in everything we do. ... #firststepscount

24.01.2022 Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to this beautiful group from Taree Christian College who performed the Welcome to Country at our sod turning this afternoon. With the guidance of Uncle Mick Saunders, they shared with us a traditional ceremony preparing the camp and sprinkling sugar in the bull ant holes for protection. It was a joy to see these leaders of the future share their culture with such passion, knowledge and joy. Thank you! Thank you Uncle Russell for welcoming us to country in Gathang language (with a future leader by your side.) We value your support and helping us realise this vision for community. #biripi #firststepscount #midcoast4kids

05.01.2022 Today we hosted Penny Dakin, CEO from Australian Research Alliance for Children and Youth (ARACY) at Club Taree who spoke with a group of professionals from the community, health and education sector about The Nest wellbeing framework and how it is being applied in practice. It reinforced the importance of embedding The Common Approach in the service sector on the MidCoast, providing a way of working with children and young people, meaning we can engage early and identify ne...eds to be preventative in our approach. Thank you for coming Penny and to Communities for Children and Mid Coast 4 Kids for supporting this wonderful event. #firststepscount #midcoast4kids #thenest #commonapproach
