22.01.2022 Finishing touches for the path...

19.01.2022 Hold on to your hat, the Fishy Community Composter is now up and running. Yes, you read right! The first load of Agapathus heads, ragwort flowers, coffee grounds and food waste went in on Thursday 4th Feb with daily top ups .To date (7th), 80 litres of Agapathus flower heads and 25 litres of Ragwort flowers have gone in.We are starting slowly and will have to re. feed for a few weeks until we know the compost mixes are cooked properly. The first of the Weed, Feed and be Lu...lled working bee Events supported by a Covid Grant from the shire was in full swing last Saturday morning . Morning tea provided by Gibsons Cafe and great music with Loue Wheeler and Grace. I enjoyed a gum boot jig. 50 people came and went throughout the morning. Some even went home to get their working clothes! The cyprus wall was oiled inside and out. Water connected and tap installed. Agapathus heads cut along the road. Thanks to the shire work crew, who came and filled a tandem trailer load of corrugated iron left from earlier demolishing of the old cattle yards. Members continued that cleanup. Rock and stick pick up in the slashed area so it will be easy to mow. Pulled English Ivy and cut it with a new tool made by Trevor Wheeler .Trevor is working on a box and wooden slab to make the cutting easier. Looking forward to trying it out...and thumbs up to the paths teams on Saturday and those who showed their support by just coming and having a chat. Thank you all who continue to help problem solve. We are now seeking a continual supply of Agapathus and Ragwort flowers for the next few weeks. Contact Marg for delivery info. 0488592725 See more
