21.01.2022 This property would work really well for Fish Farmers. http://www.fishfarmers.com.au//day-dreaming-about-a-piece/

21.01.2022 I can't tell you how many times I've sat down with government types, MPs, Ministers, Civil Servants only to be lectured about how they have to be "responsible" with tax payers money. I've got no problem with our aid budget being used to help other countries however they best need help. BUT...... Why will they help a South African startup company with funding but they won't help Australian companies? At least not in any meaningful way.... http://www.abc.net.au//fixing-modern-aquaculture-m/8957172

20.01.2022 Fish Farmers HAS TO HAVE an on site processing facility for our fish. It has to be on site. You are not allowed to "harvest" farmed fish without one (thanks Primesafe). When talking to small scale poultry processors they say their number one risk factor is access to processing facilities. We can fix that.... Since we have to build this piece of infrastructure its always made sense to me that it wouldn't take that much extra effort to build a poultry processing facility along side. A facility that would cater to small scale poultry processors.

19.01.2022 Fish Farmers once was ready to go but stupidity on the part of civil servants stuffed us. Even when they said it was silly, even when they said it was unfair they still said that was just tough.

18.01.2022 When developing our systems reducing waste was one of the things I focused on. Aquaponics is a great method. Far less impact than stand alone aquaculture or hydroponics. And yet many operations still produce a lot of plastic waste. Whether it be from greenhouse covers, disposable pots or packaging of produce. This article shows why I don't want to go down that path. I want my systems to not use disposable plastics that ultimately end up as this sort of blight on the landscape.... http://www.abc.net.au//plastic-garbage-covering-ca/9099188

17.01.2022 In an ideal world we wouldn't need mining. Or mining wouldn't cause any environmental damage. But we don't so if we can work together to minimise the impact that would be good. Yes? http://www.fishfarmers.com.au//bhp-an-ally-to-the-environ/

10.01.2022 I'm so over dealing with crats and politicians. This is a primary reason why. Tammi Jonas and the AFSA team spent ages consulting with the minister and various bureaucrats to attempt to explain extensive methods of raising pigs, poultry and other animals. These animals are specifically mentioned in the planning scheme because when farmed intensively in sheds they have MASSIVE impacts on the environment both physically, chemically and aesthetically. Then there are the ethical... considerations. That these planning regulations are being applied to enterprises that don't have these impacts is unconscionable. The economic and now it appears the political drives towards industrial intensive agriculture are accelerating. The focus of my work is to provide alternatives. However I despair. If Tammi can't get sense out of our political representatives with her communication skills what hope do I have. Fish Farmers has systems ready to implement to produce fish, vegetables, poultry, various crops without the impacts of intensive hydroponics, aquaculture, poultry barns or piggeries. 98% water savings, Zero nutrient pollution, massive reduced emissions. But I have only been able to coordinate 60% of the capital we need to get started. The biggest impediments, unwillingness of the government and financial sector to invest in innovative less harmful solutions. And now they want to make it ridiculously hard for traditional small scale farmers to get started or operate their farms. The only hope is if you the public supports innovative farmers like myself and applies political pressure to the government to support the work of regenerative traditional farmers producing food using techniques that care for the environment rather than subjugate it. Please share Tammi's post and make a comment on the ministers and your MPs facebook pages.
