25.01.2022 Cod Season Opens up on December 1st which is really exciting! Just be sure to know your Victorian Rules and Practices before heading our for a fish as hefty fines can apply to Anglers doing the wrong thing. Remember the Minimum legal length for Murray cod is 55cm with a max of 75cm to ensure smaller fish get a chance to breed and larger fish sustain the population. ... The statewide bag limit for the Murray cod is 1 from Rivers and 2 from Urban or specified Lakes and impoundments. Tight lines.

21.01.2022 Murray Cod season starts today! These beautiful fish are a native freshwater icon here in Victoria whose numbers are bouncing back thanks to responsible angling... practice, river restoration, and stocking efforts... Better Handling For Murray Cod - Reduce air time - Gently does it! - Be prepared - Avoid lip grips - Use circle hooks Finally, a big cod on light line is more likely to tire so be sure to use heavier gear that doesn't unnecessarily prolong the flight https://vfa.vic.gov.au/education/codhandling
