25.01.2022 The e-Cosy Competition is now closed to entries. An enormous thank you to all the tea cosy makers who got their creativity into gear while in isolation and submitted a wonderful array of beautiful, thoughtful, whimsical tea cosies.

25.01.2022 Just a reminder to all our tea cosy crafters, if you want to be eligible to go into the draw for a Fish Creek Tea Cosy Festival merchandise pack, your entries for the eCosy exhibition need to be submitted by midnight 30 April. For those of you still working on your entries, 8 May is the absolute final day for entries .

24.01.2022 Tea cosy lovers, we are working hard to finalise how we do the competition and e-Cosy Exhibition this year. A few technological challenges along the way, but were nearly there. Were trying to keep it simple. And fun. We will update you next weekend, so hang in there and keep right on crafting...

24.01.2022 The countdown is on ... only 48 hours left to get your entry into the eCosy exhibition by midnight 8May. Thank you to all those who have sent entries already. Our exhibition stewards are currently beavering away creating catalogues and photo albums for judge Ramona Barry and ready for the tea cosy festival launch on 16 May. We will announce the winner of the merchandise pack on festival opening day.

24.01.2022 Popular Choice prize winner

24.01.2022 Tea cosies of the day. Critters. A salty sea anemone. Busy bees. A hot hen. The odd octopus. An occasional owl. You can view the cosy critters here on Facebook... (Photos tab + See All to view all the photo albums) or on our website: https://teacosyfestival.com.au/2020-fest/e-cosy-exhibition/

23.01.2022 The Meaning of Things. Craft Victoria's online exhibition.

23.01.2022 Have a crack at this perhaps (when youve finished your tea cosy that is!)

23.01.2022 Make sure to check up on Noni the Pony when you are next in Fish Creek!

23.01.2022 Early birds. Night Owls. Whatever. As an incentive for you to email us your e-Cosy entries early, all entries received by midnight 30 April will go into a draw to win a Festival Merchandise Pack! Yep, we have merch: Tea-shirts and Tea-cloths (of course). You will find more info about our TWO tea cosy competitions - the e-Cosy Competition and #teacosiesinisolation - on our website, including competition categories, conditions, deadlines and, of course, prizes! And speaking of prizes, a shout out to our awesome prize sponsors who, without exception, offered their continuing support despite the cancellation of festival events and the uncertainty that COVID-19 brings with it.

23.01.2022 We decided that one tea cosy competition wasnt enough to keep us (or you) occupied. So we are running a second tea cosy competition! #teacosiesinisolation - an Instagram competition. How you interpret tea cosies in isolation is up to you, although we advise not attempting anything too risky or dangerous we dont want any cosy selfie disasters!... The quality of the tea cosy in question is unimportant you mightve made it yourself, bought it at an op shop or borrowed it from your granny, we dont care. Images must be posted to Instagram with the hashtag #teacosiesinisolation by 24 May 2020. More info about the competition entry conditions can be found on our website. The prize for this competition Pennicott Wilderness Journeys has donated two tickets for their two-and-a-half hour Wilsons Promontory Cruise (worth $270). Take an image of a tea cosy in isolation and win a tour to a beautiful, isolated part of Victoria! Cant get more appropriate than that.

22.01.2022 That afternoon tea yesterday got us thinking about food...

21.01.2022 Go Ken! Thats one good lookin cosy...

20.01.2022 Such a gorgeous HOTTIES day today. And such a long time coming! There's no doubt this has been the most logistically challenging exhibition on East-Gippsland-ea...rth. . But we got there! Not with quite as much fanfare as we'd hoped, but - even better - it was part of a gorgeous community recovery day in Bruthen. Huge thanks to the Bruthen & District Neighbourhood House for creating a beautiful display in the Rotunda. The Bruthen team did all the work required to pull the last few steps together ... unpacking, sorting, judging, prize-giving, displaying, welcoming, and packing down again for the last time. We'll share the full details in the next day or two. How many we sold, who won the prizes, and how much we'll be donating to the care of the wildlife so devastated by the summer bushfires. STANDBY. WE ARE NEARLY THERE. Thanks to everyone for your support, for making, for buying, for helping. It's been a doozie of a year for a HOTTIES exhibition. But we made it. And we think we'll do it again next year. :-)

20.01.2022 Tea cosies of the day. Environmental calamity. How cosy makers use their creativity to interpret the world around them. Check them out - in Facebook, choose the... Photos tab and then See All to see all the albums where you will find these and other wonderful cosy creations. And dont forget to vote for your favourite cosy by hitting that Send Email button. The cosy creator will win $100 and you may win some festival merchandise! You can also view the entire exhibition on our website: https://teacosyfestival.com.au/2020-fest/e-cosy-exhibition/

19.01.2022 Had ourselves a little launch in the Fishy main street...we can now say the e-Cosy Exhibition is ON

19.01.2022 Hot water bottle covers are small and simply shaped. They provide the perfect 'canvas' for endless variety of textile artistry.

19.01.2022 Ah yes, we are slowly emerging into the Fish Creek sunshine after what seemed like the longest Winter...wherever you are in the world, we hope you are safe and well

18.01.2022 Tea cosies of the day. Recycling. Upcycling. Re-purposing. Reinventing. Many cosy creators have made great use of materials theyve found in a drawer, bought fr...om an op shop, or even scrounged off the street! Some have re-purposed blankets, doilies and bits of fabric into fab cosies. Isolation may have provided the incentive to use and re-use whatever you could get your hands on. Go check them out in the Facebook albums (go to the Photos tab, click on See All) and read the creators notes about their recycling efforts. You can also view the entire exhibition on our website: https://teacosyfestival.com.au/2020-fest/e-cosy-exhibition/

18.01.2022 You just cant keep a tea cosy down! The e-Cosy Competition - the tea cosy competition for crafters & makers that has always been the focus of the festival has been adapted to meet the challenges of isolation and social distancing. What hasnt changed? You make awesome cosies, someone fabulous (in this case, Ramona Barry) judges the cosies, we award prizes.... What HAS changed? You dont need to send cosies to us. There are no entry fees. You will take photos of your superbly created cosies & email them to us at [email protected]. We will upload them as an e-Cosy Exhibition for tea cosy lovers to view at their leisure. In isolation. Or with members of their household. With plenty of hand washing. Whatever. At least everyone can still eat chocolate and drink cups of tea. More info on our website, including the NEW Conditions of Entry. But wait...theres more. We are running a second competition more about that a bit later :)

17.01.2022 The Crochet King...nothing wrong with being a bit obsessive!

17.01.2022 Tea cosies of the afternoon. COVID-19. Isolation. Some of our cosy creators decided to deal with the big issue head on. Quirky, lighthearted and thoughtful appr...oaches to this thing that is affecting us all. Much like the environment-related cosies highlighted earlier this week, a great example of how the makers of things deal with whats going on in their lives. And out there. Read the stories behind the iso cosies here on Facebook (Photos tab + See All to view all the photo albums) or view them on our website: https://teacosyfestival.com.au/2020-fest/e-cosy-exhibition/

17.01.2022 Although COVID-19 has forced us to cancel the 2020 festival events, we are still going to run the Tea Cosy Competition. We know how much thought and work cosy creators put into their entries, and it seemed just too disappointing to cancel the competition. So we hatched this: Tea Cosies in Isolation An e-Cosy Exhibition The Tea Cosy Competition Conditions of Entry are unchanged. We still want your entries by Friday 8 May (or postmarked Friday 8 May). We will still be awardin...g prizes in categories as previously published. Ramona Barry will still judge entries. However, rather than existing at a location in the real world, the exhibition will only live online. We are still working through the logistics of how to do it and where to upload it, and well let you know our progress!

17.01.2022 UPDATE: CLOSING DATE FOR ENTRIES EXTENDED UNTIL 31ST JULY :-)

16.01.2022 You have a bit over 24 hours left to enter our Instagram competition #teacosiesinisolation Post an image to Instagram using the #teacosiesinisolation hashtag & you could win two tickets on Pennicott Wilderness Journeys Wilsons Promontory Cruise More info on our website: https://teacosyfestival.com.au/202/tea-cosies-in-isolation/

15.01.2022 And please! please! please! ... make sure you read the guidelines (on our website) and include all the details requested. We are endeavouring to contact those who have sent photos only, but while we are doing our best, we cannot guarantee that incomplete last minute entries will be fully processed in time for festival judging. Time for a cuppa now, then back to your sensational creations.

14.01.2022 The winner of our Instagram competition #teacosiesinisolation - 'Isolation yogi tea please' by Aishwarya Saraswati. To see all the entries, go to Instagram and search on #teacosiesinisolation. Thanks to everyone for engaging so creatively with our first Instagram competition, especially those of you who had never before posted to Instagram!

13.01.2022 Tea cosy of the day. The last in the series & one that is close to home. One of the joys of working with the e-cosies has been the stories that came with so many of them. Although we lost the physical aspects of our cosy exhibition, we gained something else special

13.01.2022 A reminder about the e-Cosy Exhibition Popular Choice, where you vote for your favourite cosy & the winner receives a prize of $100! Voting closes at midnight 2...4 May (tomorrow). One vote only please :) You are able to vote by either: - hitting the SEND EMAIL button here on Facebook - emailing your vote to [email protected] - voting via the Popular Choice page on our website: https://teacosyfestival.com.au/2020-festival/popular-choice/

12.01.2022 In response to the COVID-19 pandemic the 2020 Fish Creek Tea Cosy Festival is cancelled. The Festival Committee has made this decision reluctantly, but we feel we must respond to our duty of care to visitors, participants and local community members. However, in defiance of COVID-19, we will still hold the Tea Cosy Competition! We will post details to our website and facebook by the end of March to let you know how this will work.... Thank you all for your understanding, we know you are as disappointed as we are. https://teacosyfestival.com.au/2020-festival/

09.01.2022 The teapot is empty folksyes, we have come to the end of the 2020 Fish Creek Tea Cosy Festival. We are so pleased with the response to the innovation of the e-Cosy Exhibition and thank all the crafters for sharing their wonderful tea cosies. Our thanks also to all of you who have viewed and shared the exhibition with your friends and family across Australia and the world. Thank you also to everyone who posted an image to Instagram #teacosiesinisolation our first Instagram ...competition and for some people, their first Instagram post! When restrictions are lifted and you can visit Fish Creek and the South Gippsland Shire, make sure you use the services of our sponsors who so generously provided the prizes. We thank Ramona Barry, the tea cosy judge for her professionalism in selecting the 2020 winners. A difficult task that was compounded by only having images to work from. We encourage you to follow our website or like us on facebook so you can know about the next festival. Until the guidelines around public gatherings are clear we are unable to announce any future festival plans, but we so look forward to the day when Fish Creek can once again host celebrations to the humble tea cosy and showcase the unique talents and hospitality of the Fish Creek community.
