22.01.2022 Fisheries Minister Peter Tinley and Bicton MLA, Lisa O’Malley recently presented Fishability’s South Metropolitan Jetty Program Coordinator, Steve Jones, with the keys to a new van courtesy of the State Government’s Recreational Fishing Initiatives Fund. What a catch!! Our South Metro Volunteers are very grateful, Minister, and our North Metro Volunteers are very envious!! Fishability Friends

20.01.2022 Due to ongoing Covid-19 restrictions and mask wearing requirements, Fishability activities in the Perth and Mandurah regions have been cancelled for the week Monday 3 May to Friday 7 May 2021. We anticipate activities to resume the following week. Fishability Friends

20.01.2022 To bring a smile during a tough week... Handicamp/Rotary who attended a Fishability activity on 22 Jan absolutely LOVED the experience. For many participants it was their first time fishing (and catching!) and a Certificate of Appreciation was presented to Fishability after the event, for the level of support and enthusiasm provided. We love these stories! Thanks to all involved :)

19.01.2022 On 8 and 9 Mar (with our Awards Night in between) Fishability held a Training workshop for volunteers at RPYC. We had our best turn out yet, from all regions, and much laughter and learning was had. The two days covered strategic and planning discussions - where we are at and where we'd like to get to, guest speakers, specific training on some key topics and plenty of opportunities for networking amongst volunteers - all the while enjoying the views and the delicious catering. We even managed to get in a session of yoga and stress management! Thanks to all involved. RPYC Rejoov Workplace Massage & Wellness Equal Disability Consultants

18.01.2022 Last Monday 8 March, Fishability hosted its Awards and Celebration night at Royal Perth Yacht Club. Volunteers, distinguished guests, supporters, stakeholders, Board members and staff recognised and awarded those who have done so much for the organisation and its participants. Congratulations to all awarded and thank you to our supporters, advocates and all those who enable Fishability to operate to such a level, and deliver what we do. A special mention to Ray Benetti, who has been with Fishability as a volunteer for 20 years and was awarded Life Membership. 05.01.2022 Fishability's Bunbury "Come and Try Day" yesterday was a great success with around 30 participants and support workers in attendance including students from Newton Moore Ed Support Centre, residents from Wattle Hill Lodge and many individuals. A huge thanks to our Busselton (Michelle Lee and a big team), Mandurah (Mike Chitty) and Perth (Stephen Jones) Programs for travelling to Bunbury and volunteering their time, to make it all possible. AS ALWAYS, FANTASTIC! Fishability Friends
