Perfect sea conditions over last 2 weeks, I've managed to dive this great li...ttle inner-shelf reef off Cairns numerous times. Only 16nm from coast, Pixie Reef is only reachable on private vessels, and there are no moorings. Hanging with the Back 2 Basics-Adventures crew and The Temple Ca...pe York crew aboard Weipa Houseboats for a couple days before going away with Theona Down for some barra and billfish action with a few extra supplies from Eclipse FNQ Charters. Then it was into the Weipa Billfish Club Inc. tournament mode with Tony Katsaros being crowned champion senior male angler. Good times See more

10.01.2022 Old mate and former charter operator/fishing writer, Paul Millist, dropped in for a few days of feather chucking. Some interesting critters here including coupl...e of new species for me. Helped clients to catch a few BB's over the years but had yet to put one in the boat myself. Started the BB ball rolling with a lovely 63cm example after first landing a stud blubber lip bream. Plenty of golden, queenies, small barra and other stuff but Paul managed a very healthy jack amongst the snags. Had a lovely blue salmon monstered by a very large shark just off the beach. Talked a lot of rubbish about old times along the way - as old bastards tend to do! See more

04.01.2022 The marlin were quiet on the last day but we still finished with 6 marlin for the three days and some great variety besides including Paul’s sail. Yesterday Bro...ck tested out his new chair skills on a big hammerhead that snuck up and took the scad sneaky marlin style. The sail also ate the scad.
