24.01.2022 The guys from Recfishwest will be in town on Thursday 25th to talk about issues of interest to the Broome and wider Kimberley fishing community. So swing by the... Broome Fishing Club and have a yarn with them they’ll be at the club from 5:30pm and will be giving an update on: The Broome FAD program; The proposed Buccaneer Archipelago Marine Park; and A potential new artificial reef for Broome! Recfishwest is WA’s peak recfishing sector body whose purpose is great fishing experiences for all in WA forever. So come down to the forum, they are keen to hear your views. 18.01.2022 Another Buccaneer classic down, love to thank firstly Sars for her amazing job, we couldn’t have done it without you.the whole Committee for all the hours behin...d the scenes. THE AMAZING COOKING CREW, ten million snags steaks and bacon done and dusted without a single piece dropped in the dirt. You guys that helped out with that deserved a medal. Well done to the Donnelly’s you smashed the field. Great job to the Tomahawks coming in second and team Nauti~gal bringing in the reef champs for a record 4 years in a row. As the dust settles on this event the 150 people that experienced the beautiful Buccaneer Archipelago over a few days will take home memories that will last a lifetime. Let’s hope we can fish and experience it for years to come. Well done every one. See more

10.01.2022 Have your say on the proposed Buccaneer Archipelago marine parks before the public comment period ends on 11 June - DBCA recently agreed to extend the deadline ...to to allow more time for the preparation of submissions. The Buccaneer provides superb fishing experiences in breathtaking seacountry - like pictured here. From all that we've head from the Traditional Owners and DBCA - the design of the marine parks is not a done deal. So, it's really important that local recfishers get their views heard to ensure we can get the best outcome possible for all of the community in the final designs of the marine parks. Many fishers have reported finding the submission process complicated and daunting, so Recfishwest has produced some hints and tips to make your submission count and a step-by-step guide for those who want to make their submissions through DBCA’s online survey.
