25.01.2022 We normally don't post sunrises at Hooked Up Fishing Adventures Mission Beach.....but this one was a cracker! Followed it up with a nice little half day island trip with JK and Silvia nailing 2 stud Coral Trout out of mud run off that is currently out there. Missed a couple of other good fish too!

08.01.2022 Plenty of signs when there is a low pressure cell ( depression/ cyclone) in your area. Non better at Mission Beach than Frigate birds coming in from offshore ( pictured). Frigate birds only come to the coast and glide over windy headlands like Clump Point Mission Beach when there is exceptionally strong winds and rough seas. 05.01.2022 We are all getting over the heavy weather ( check the background!), but if you are willing to brave the elements there are some good fish to be had. Steve from Townsville with stud Golden Trevally and son Ricky with the unusual and little caught Fringed Flathead caught with Hooked Up Fishing Adventures Mission Beach over the weekend. Unlike other fishing destinations, Mission Beach has a great island cluster to fish around if weather won't let you get to the outer reef.

03.01.2022 Used the new slot today. When backing down it was noticeable that the high sided pontoons were very easy to line up on. If you can't back a trailer very well it's a good idea to go practice on your own somewhere well away from everybody. Not at the boatramp on a 5kt sunny Sunday.

03.01.2022 Choppy but plenty of fish today with the boys from #Bedarra Island. Stud wet season Spanish Mackerel and Giant Trevally, plenty of Coral Trout in thebox as well!

03.01.2022 Scratching around cleaning found this old map/ chart of Ellison Reef showing the lease area for dredging coral. Queensland Government had issued a permit for a company to turn that reef into fertiliser and cement in the late 1960s. Test dredging took place in NW corner ( furrows are still there ). Big environmental campaign stopped the project and resulted in establishment of the GBR Marine Park.
