25.01.2022 The hat is being passed around for our local legend The Ice Man he was in a terrible car accident today- we hope he is back doing what he does best real soon, serving out ice creams for the kids and supplying the happy campers their daily essentials. Hoping it’s a speedy recovery mate and made that little bit easier for you and the fam with funds raised via the link below https://gf.me/u/y3iwqf

13.01.2022 Whilst the Cherry Venture remains the most publicised wreck on Noosa's North Shore, it must not be assumed that it is by any means the only one. A series of wre...cks have taken place there over the years. One is the 'Leisha' (pictured), which began to take in water while in transit between Maryborough and Brisbane on Tuesday 7th of December 1954. The little ship had been purchased 3 months before, when her failure to planking occurred and she went aground around 13 km south of Double Island Point. Salvage operations were attempted to refloat her but to no avail. She remains at her last resting place, buried under many metres of sand. Her memory lives on as a track, 'Leisha Track', which enables 4WD vehicles access from the North Shore, over the narrow neck of Double Island Point and down onto the beach at Rainbow Beach. Photo of Leisha remains from Clive Plater. See more
