24.01.2022 We got a nice write up in the local paper talking about how we are adapting to these Covid times. Thanks to Sam Bolt from the Western Advocate! -The hospitality industry as a whole is facing a hard slog through this COVID-19 period, and is requiring many businesses to get inventive about their business. Fish River Roasters is answering the call through enhancing their social media presence with instructional videos, adding unique, complementary coffee samples to home deliveri...es and keeping up the support for their cafe clients still open and delivering takeaway services. It's such a tough period for everyone at the moment [including us at the Advocate], but I'm still here working and looking to find some brighter sides to a largely uncertain situation. I've been quiet with posts on this page lately, but I'm aiming to up the traffic again, so if you own or are still working for a local business and have some interesting positive stories to share about how you're getting through COVID-19, please hit me up! Also, if your work is currently on hold and you're finding an interesting way to cope with the situation [that would be newsworthy], feel free to hit me up on this page or email me at [email protected] We're in this together, no matter how overused or oversaturated this statement has become! "The online side of the business has certainly grown with the greater numbers of people working from home."

02.01.2022 Fish River Roasters and that freaking annoying virus. What a year 2020 is turning out to be. I remember back in January when we were worrying about the fires thinking, how much worse can this get. The answer is.a fair bit. But! We are open, we are roasting and we can get coffee to all our café customers and of course internet customers as well. ... We stocked up on all supplies over the last month. Green beans, take away cups, chocolate, syrups, just about everything. We didn’t panic buy like we have seen at supermarkets. Indeed, the only thing we didn’t stock up on is toilet paper. We are down to eight rolls here at FRR HQ. Rationing the TP here is not far away. So we are open and will be able to support you in all things coffee. We will be cutting down on non-essential travel. We may also end up using more couriers to deliver to our wholesale customers so some of our wholesale delivery runs may change. However, we will still get coffee to you whenever you need it. The word unprecedented has been thrown around a lot now. To be anxious and concerned about the future is a valid reaction to the events around this freaking annoying virus. Just know that we will continue to do our best to support you and your business. If you have any concerns, please ring me 6331-7171. Peter Harrison Fish River Roasters See more
