25.01.2022 How things change, yesterday good in the morning bad afternoon, today horrible in the morning great afternoon with a bag of 66. All happy with their bag of 11 but said they would be happy with a bag of 10 as most people that come out fishing, so why is fisheries so complacent about our bag and size limits. Sorry no photo as it did not come out.

24.01.2022 What a load of bullshit we have been fed. Can i take anyone out fishing. Yes BUT: I must use the Covid safety code. I can take 5 You have to come from one household with a maximum of two households. You must live within 25ks from Westernport Marina as the crow flies.... The virus becomes contagious if you live 26 ks or greater, previously 5ks but somehow we have trained the virus to be non contagious until 25 ks. See more

24.01.2022 Nice day out with a great crew. Whiting biting very light, best bait is mussels.

23.01.2022 A nice day out on Westernport, 8 anglers many novices and we got a good bag of 91. Best bait was mussels.

21.01.2022 Took ^ regulars from Sommers out today, slow rising tide and the fish bit slow but constant all along the middle spit, then out to the deep some big fish but many smaller than usual. When the tide changed and the speed of the water got up the weed came in and fishing was hard. &0 fish between 6 anglers a good day out with a good group of guys.

19.01.2022 update. I am trying to change the method DHHS use to calculate numbers on all boats. At present i can take 2 which is not viable and most recreational boats can take 1. We have come up with a formula that has been accepted by the water police, VRFish and the BIA, so we just need the aproval of the DHHS. If accepted i can take 5 and keep within the 1.5m distance rule.

19.01.2022 Saturday the 21st, another wrong forecast by the BOM. Got a small group together and managed a good catch in ordinary conditions. Cowes, Tortoise head and eastern channel. 69 solid whiting.

18.01.2022 Went out today with Bill Montague and his friend Phil from Port Douglas. We started of great, tide stopped wind blew tide ran out fish stopped biting. We did it hard but still managed 43 whiting. Best bait Mussels. Sorry no photos.

18.01.2022 7 regular Japanese anglers out today for a nice catch of 121. best bait Mussel

18.01.2022 4 great guys out today, nearly got them their bag, 70 whiting. Best bait mussel from Bushy's bait middle spit area 23ft.

17.01.2022 First Charter after the clown has given us some freedom. Tried for whiting with 16 moves for 3, no toads no flathead nothing else. But on the snapper and pinkies we got 24 between 6 anglers and they accepted that was plenty, unlike fisheries management. Best went 5kgs.

17.01.2022 Nice trip Today with 3 good customers. They fished very well and managed a bag of 52 whiting.

17.01.2022 good start on run out tide then went slow for run in. Good quality fish with one big Flathead.

15.01.2022 Hi to all my friends new and old. We have a new rule after months of trying to get a clarification of how many we can take out. The rule is to keep everyone 1.5m apart and measuring my boat I can take 6 which includes myself which is big improvement on 2 :). We must abide by a code of conduct we have created for Charter boats and should be adopted by recreational anglers, I have listed it below. Now there is a catch, October the 26th is the date BUT in the previous 2 week per...iod there has to be 5 or less infections per day and that could be hard to achieve, thanks Danny Boy ! So I am going to take bookings from the 1st of November but will be subject to Dans approval. Covid 19 code of conduct for fishing charter vessels ALL PASSENGERS 1. To arrive 15mins before departure for briefing 2. To receive temperature check before boarding and wear a face mask 3. Must remain in there allocated spot on vessel except for use of bathroom facility’s or emergency situation 4. Must use hand sanitiser available on vessel 5. Disinfectant available to use for surfaces and bathroom facility’s 6. Tea and coffee available to be served in throw away cups 7. TBA 8. All fishing equipment to be allocated to passenger cleaned and sanitised with own fish bucket and bait station ( as in bait bucket to be encouraged to wear to limit movement ) 9. Passengers with children must keep them within space allocated 10. All skippers to ensure the 1.5m distancing rule is maintained.

13.01.2022 story on the Gas terminal proposal by agl at crib point. Tonight channel 2 7 pm. https://www.abc.net.au//agl-floating-gas-morning/12603832

13.01.2022 Not fishing related but related to future decisions by governments. I have a lot of conversations with the radical Climate change people, all seemed to be convinced usually by way of the media, so I like to use proper information that has not been altered to suit the world climate change movement. Look at these figures and see if you can see any rise in the sea levels that was supposed to have happened since the 80's. http://www.bom.gov.au/ntc/IDO70000/IDO70000_60590_SLD.shtml http://www.bom.gov.au/ntc/IDO70000/IDO70000_60710_SLD.shtml

12.01.2022 today I had my japanese customers that have been coming out with me for over 25 years. I told them it was going to be very hard fishing because of the 4 ft rise in the tide, way too slow. At 9.45 we had one Whiting, at the end of the trip 83

12.01.2022 This weekend looks like a miracle will happen, Sunday no wind. So I have a few spots if you want some whiting. $100 7 hours BBQ all fish killed and iced load of fun... text me 0408375413 See more

11.01.2022 Sunday, 6 anglers, fishing was slow with light bites so we went after pinkies at bouy 12 :( nothing. the NW got up so we went to THB in 20 knots and ended up with 88 good whiting.

11.01.2022 A late cancelation left with 5 anglers, awesome day with a group of great people and we got 105 whiting, 20 for them 5 for me best bait mussel.

10.01.2022 Sundays trip with wind against tide making it difficult to stay in the right depth but a lot of moves we ended up with a reasonable catch considering the conditions.

10.01.2022 another small group on Sunday perfect conditions. Whiting started great then stopped and came on again later in the day. another good catch of 68 whiting most good solid fish again.

09.01.2022 A mixed bag of fish for 6 great anglers.

08.01.2022 A couple of guys from sustainable concrete solutions had a good day out, some big whiting in the deep.

08.01.2022 one day plenty the next day half. :(

07.01.2022 I tried to obtain an exemption based on my assumption that if Tennis players and AFLW are essential workers I would be considered the same. I put my application in stating that i take out 6 starving anglers fishing with the aim of catching fish for food so the starving anglers and their families can eat, is that not essential work. The bastards rejected my application!!!!

06.01.2022 Just a little light at the door is starting to appear in the dark jail. Maybe November the Clown will open the door.

05.01.2022 Another great day out, awesome weather on Sunday. Managed a catch of 79 whiting, middle spit eastern channel, best bait mussel

02.01.2022 Forecast for winds up yo 25 knots fished in near perfect conditions until around 11.30 am then the rain and wind but the fish kept biting, Lysats, Tyabb, Quail and middle spit all had fish. Best bait mussels and a bag of 89,

01.01.2022 Group of 7 today, slow tide but the school whiting bite well at times, last hour and a half 2 fish. Rob drove down from Shep with two boys caught the fish then drove back .

01.01.2022 Took out my regular Japanese group today, after yesterdays failure I was a bit concerned, but lots of whiting over 40 cm best 47cm, one very large ocy with 78 whiting. Wasn't allowed to lay them out all fish must be kept in the salt water and ice slurry. Best bait mussel. Awesome whiting season
