25.01.2022 CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS + MATERNITY LEAVE Please note that we will be closed from the 25th December 2020 to the 1st of January 2021. We plan to continue trading until our baby boy lets us know he’s ready to enter the world! Once this happens, we will close our store for 4 weeks.... My due date is the 31st of January so please have everything you need well before then to avoid any disappointment. If you’re a new customer, there’s nothing to be alarmed about. Every year for the past 10 years, we shut down our store at Christmas time for a whole month so we can go on holidays. The only difference is, this time we’ll be closed over February and instead of exploring a new country, we’ll be changing diapers If you have any questions about our closure, please come in and chat to us! We can, of course still be at work to care for all the livestock but cannot allow customers to come in and browse.... Nevertheless, you can still access essential goods from us! COURIER We have found a same day courier service that we believe offers reasonable pricing for those who live outside the 5km radius. Please contact us for further information. EXPRESS POST Dry goods can be sent through Australia Post with tracking. Shipping will depend on weight, size and location. Four new boxes of corals from Salty Pets will be available on Saturday - unfortunately there were no earlier flights.... -- We now sell terraraiums for those who are bored at home but don't want the responsibility of a fish tank (or for those who don't realise how much responsibility comes with a fish tank). A lot of fish have suffered and/or died during this global pandemic because people have gone out and purchased fish on a whim. I encourage you to do plenty of research before getting into this hobby. If you have a new tank or want to revamp your existing tank, all you've got to do is give Andy the dimensions. ... He'll map it out on the floor, ask you what you want to achieve and create something you'll love. We box the rock strategically so when you get home, you can easily rebuild it. 08.01.2022 CONTACTLESS. I understand that other pet stores and aquariums are open and still allowing people to browse - maybe they’ll get away with it or maybe they won’t. But as a business owner, it would be naive of me to just copy what they are doing. ... I have been on the phone to Business a Victoria on several occasions over the last few days and they have clearly told me that we cannot allow customers in our store during these restrictions. Access to essential goods is most definitely available - if it’s contactless. Even though you can’t come into the store, we can still provide you with everything you need to look after your livestock. Remember, some small business have been forced to close for more than 6 weeks. While it’s not ideal that we have to close our doors now, we want to be apart of the solution, not the problem. In regards to our freshwater fish, there will be no new stock unfortunately. It’s just not feasible for us to run 60 tanks during stage 4 lockdown. All livestock including plants will be listed in the comment section below for those who are interested. Our store will continue to open every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday between 11.00am to 4.00pm. Although you can’t come in to browse, a part of our counter is still accessible. 01.01.2022 NEW CORALS AVAILABLE Oh ma gawd, this mumma is tired! Thank you for such an amazing day and for being so patient - it was just a little crazy this morning ... There isn’t a lot of marine fish left but there’s plenty of coral to choose from! Please note that the Hanna Nitrate checkers will be ready for sale in two weeks. We only managed to secure 22 and are 3rd in line to receive our order. If you’d like to put your name down for one, please let us know below. Next week all the reagents will be back in stock plus the salinity testers. It’s first in, best dressed for these because there’s such a high demand. 01.01.2022 NEW MARINE FISH + CORALS Okie dokie guys, here is the fish list with prices for this week. Check out our Facebook and Instagram stories for a closer look at the shipment - Andy did today's video and unfortuantely it didn't meet my standards to be uploaded here ... The ribbon eel below has already been sold but it was too majestic not to share! We only got in a small coral shipment this week but expect to fill all four tanks next week. We're also getting sexy shrimp in tomorrow so if you'd like to put your name down for one, please let us know below. Live plants arrived today and we are due to start filling our freshwater tanks next week. This will be a slow process as everything was shut down over the last 6 weeks. There are a couple of floor display marine tanks on sale if anyone is after another/or a new set up. If you're after something brand new we have the mini reef 120, mini reef 215, reefsys 180 and reefsys 326 in stock. Coral sand is back but real reef rock won't be available until the end of October. I'm not sure when stock levels will return to normal but we're trying our best to stay on top of things. We thank you for your patience and understanding.
