25.01.2022 Oooo!!! Yoga and Shakti mat??

24.01.2022 Posts of the week from Fit4Business World Wide -

24.01.2022 So we've all seen this video go viral and Perth has had the privilege of some classes from this instructor over the past few weeks....but what is it that makes this instructor so popular. After a talk I was present at recently it dawned on me that it's actually entertainment we are after, not instruction. The word "coach" has taken place of the word "trainer" so maybe now it's time we replace the word "instructor" with "entertainer".... A wise team member of mine once told me she recruits her GX instructors based on their "performance" and she was totally right. It's all about the performance (with safe guidance). The knowledge and qualifications should be secondary to the entertainers ability to perform. Knowledge can be taught, being a natural performer is much harder to teach. https://www.facebook.com/522305628/posts/10156503414945629/

24.01.2022 Innovation is key... Interesting events like this will raise the awareness of your facility and programs. Why not try something different at your centre?! ... Partner up with other organisations and see what interesting programs or sessions your centre could deliver!

23.01.2022 To celebrate the 27th birthday of The Brittas Empire why not watch this hilarious episode: https://youtu.be/VTSIK4MRELc The Brittas Empire is a British SitCom based in a leisure centre and it's great watch after another chaotic day in your own facility! #justforlaughs

20.01.2022 Ironically I was thinking last night while singing the baby shark tune for the 100th time to my toddler I wonder if the worlds most annoying song could be incorporated into kids activities!

19.01.2022 Intelligence on your customers habits, behaviours and thoughts can only be known through strategic research. Decisions should be made with the customer at the centre; all else will follow. More happy customers = more people, more active, more often = more $$ in your bottom line... www.fit4businesswa.com.au

16.01.2022 And it's finally here...at home fitness by one of the big brands...

13.01.2022 This is an issue I don't think we, as an industry, have fully grasped the extent of. We are so focussed on trying to sell secondary products at the initial point of sale that we miss the true issues facing those who were brave enough to take the first step and join/take part. We need to create independent and confident members. That's the only way to achieve excellent retention of your clients/members. Focus on that instead of quick wins or grabbing some secondary spend at the PoS and you'll see your financials rise.

12.01.2022 Red water is back! Who else has dared to turn their water red for Halloween before?

12.01.2022 My vision has always been to get More People, More Active, More Often. Good business sense is simply a by-product of that vision. ... Getting more people, more active & more often will result in better performance for your business/facility. It's common sense in its basic form.

12.01.2022 Wise words from Daniel Goleman #emotionalintelligence

12.01.2022 What do you reckon? Can you recognise any of these gym stereotypes?

11.01.2022 Just for laughs...

06.01.2022 Data Protection. It's an age old problem and with good reason. Recently my contact details have been incorrectly and, dare I quote it; illegally shared by fitness establishments. It creates a high level of distrust for the brand and organisation when this happens because you question exactly how much you really matter to them when they are so loosely monitoring what is happening with your personal details. Twice my details have been taken from a database by an employee and used for their own personal business marketing. It's actions like this that make the fitness industry look incompetent when we know there are facilities doing a great job out there. #rantover

06.01.2022 I am passionate about supporting other women and seeing them rise to the top of their professions. As a mum I've certainly been met with an amount of struggles during the last 14 years to continue to progress my career; such as... Being unsuccessful at interviews because the successful male candidate (although the same age) had more years active experience (note: I have had two children, one at the young age of 21, so had to spend sometime finding work to suit childcare wh...ich meant my preferred career had had to take some temporary detours in the past) Being denied flexible working on a temporary basis while my children settled into childcare which resulted in me resigning from my job resulting in my family's uncertainty Being given the cold shoulder by my boss when I announced my first pregnancy My boss calling my midwife to ensure my pregnancy symptoms were justified Being asked to return my keys and uniform while on maternity leave when I hadn't even left my job Being accused of working while on maternity leave and then sent a distasteful email about it from my manager Being asked personal questions in interviews about my children and their childcare arrangements and how I was going to manage the job while being a mother Being frowned upon because of the number of personal leave days I've had to use on taking care of my poorly children or taking my autistic son to appointments Receiving lower pay because my years experience weren't as high as the male of the same age in the same job because he didn't take time out of his career to organise childcare or raise children [note: this applies the other way around too of course] So, on that note; I raise a glass to all those women out there, with children or no children, to continue to strive for your career and your independence and recognition of the greatness that you are. Don't ever give up on your dreams. Cheers
