25.01.2022 We SEE you mama. We get it. We know it's hard. Parenting has always had it's challenges. But right now, added uncertainty can make it feel damn impossible at times (thinking especially of all our Melbourne mamas - hats off to you incredible ladies!).... One of our favourite tools for staying on top of our mental health whilst in the trenches of motherhood is daily meditation. That's why we've included 5-10 minute meditations in our programs that have been created by the gorgeous, nurturing @kalidevienergetics specifically for where you are on your motherhood journey. It's the calm us mamas deserve! Tell us- do you meditate daily?

24.01.2022 Waking up tired?? (Yup ) This was me this morning, despite only one wake up last night (after months of 3-4 wake ups a night ). Still. So. Damn. Tired!! If you’re feeling me, here are some easy tips to up your energy for the day:... - Get straight outside (along with whichever of your mini’s is keeping you awake) and get fresh air & just stand in the morning light. If you can get some sunshine on your face- even better! This will help your body (& the bodies of the sleep stealing mini’s of your world) know that it morning time, and reset circadian rhythms accordingly. This is because your cortisol levels surge when you are in the morning light I think we’ve come to learn that cortisol can be ‘bad’ for us- but this is only when it’s in excess, and surging at the wrong times during the day. Cortisol & Melatonin (the sleep hormone) have an inverse relationship, so cortisol in the morning & melatonin at night = winning! Second, pop on a 5 minute meditation, and ground yourself in the day. Then throw on your exercise gear & get moving. Do a good 5 minute warmup, and then decide what you think you can manage that day. Warmup has got you going? Jump into a quick TABATA or FIT FAB 30 workout and get your body producing loads of energy. Still not feeling super energetic yet? Enjoy a nice gentle core & flow workout. I do all of my workouts with the kids playing around me (& just for the record babies love push ups when they get cheek kisses each rep!)- so totally do-able, even with kiddos in tow. They might even join in! And if all else fails- coffee xx #mumhacks #mumlife #fitmum #healthymum #lackingsleep #makemoreenergy #tiredmama #cortisolandmelatonin #iwokeuplikethis #whatevenissleep #newmamalife

22.01.2022 PREGNANCY FITNESS Having gone through the experience of pregnancy and post birth recovery once before and now with one on the way...I can’t recommend enough the importance of exercise and self-care during this special time in your lives. There are sooooo many benefits of exercising while pregnant and the guidelines are 30 minutes x 5days a week for all pregnant women, even if you havn't been regularly exercising prior to becoming pregnant.... Below are just a few amazing reasons to get moving : It lifts your mood and lowers the risk of prenatal depression (hello happy hormones!) Increases your energy, stamina & immunity. Your most likely to stay within the healthy weight gain range. You train the body & mind to be strong & supported for delivery AND recovery post birth. You lower your gestational diabetes risk. You feel more confident with all the weird & wonderful changes taking place in your body and image. You clear & calm your mind. If you join a class, you feel supported, and meet other mums on the same journey. Now time to start moving that beautiful body and set the tone for the healthiest pregnancy you can have I have created some fab workouts in our Pregnancy Program and per trimester to ensure you are exercising safely and are supported throughout the whole journey. https://fitfabmum.com.au/programs/ Jade x PT in your pocket!

21.01.2022 Repeat x 3!!!!!

21.01.2022 I made some good old pumpkin soup for a friend that had just had her bub last week. My favourite thing to receive from loved ones in those newborn days was healthy meals, so it was the first thing I thought of when deciding what to gift this new mama! (She also received a couple of super cute outfits for bub, homemade lactation cookies, spaghetti bolognese from another friend and a beautician voucher ). What I love about pumpkin soup is it’s sooo full of nutrients, it’s ta...sty as hell, and it’s freezable! It’s also a great way to use any veg you might have sitting in your fridge that are well on their way out..... I also keep the skin on all the veggies for the fibre & extra texture . PUMPKIN SOUP: 300g pumpkin, seeded & cubed 1 red onion, diced 6 cloves garlic 1 medium sweet potato, cubed 2 carrots, diced 1L salt reduced vege stock 3 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil Extra water, if needed Add oil to a large soup pot, and cook onions on a medium heat until soft. Add garlic, cook for a further minutes before adding vegetables & stock. Add some extra water if needed to cover the vegetables. Simmer covered for 35 minutes. Test veggies are soft. Remove from heat and blend once cooled (I use a stick blender). I actually change this recipe up based on which veggies I have- sometimes I’ll add potato, cauliflower, broccoli..... As long as I have my base of onion, garlic & pumpkin, it always ends up good! Serve with black pepper, chilli flakes, or a dollop of yoghurt or sour cream. Yum!

20.01.2022 This little cherub is 6 months olds today! Which means I’m 6 months along my postpartum journey. Not gonna lie- I’m glad those early newborn days are behind us, but this time has also gone sooo much faster than it did with the other two! ... I’m enjoying her growing independence, her increased skill with nursing (done in 10 minutes instead of 40!), and me starting to feel a bit more like myself....and having my body back to myself a bit more of the time too!! Do you want some help and support in getting back to feeling like yourself again? Head on over & join our Postnatal program- from birth to your bubs first birthday

20.01.2022 We hear different advice going around about what we should be eating when we are trying to conceive and when we are pregnant. We can be told what to eat however its not often that it is explained WHY we need these types and foods. This is Kim's ( Our Nutritionist in your pocket) Forte'! ... She LOVES educating us Mamas on what to eat and why in each phase of the motherhood journey!! This is one of the reasons WHY our FIT FAB MUM wellness program is so special. Did you know Leafy greens like kale & spinach are a great source of folate (Vitamin B9) which is recommended during preconception and trimester 1, as it plays an integral role in fast dividing cells (a forming embryo is a collection of cells dividing rapidly!). Folate plays many vital roles in the body, none more so than it's role in the repair, maintenance and synthesis of DNA. Kim,'s TIP : Make sure you're getting plenty of folate by including leafy greens in your diet daily. Salads & green smoothies are two of her favourite ways to get greens in - what are yours?

20.01.2022 Our ‘Ruby Tuesday’ smoothies are the perfect snack for pregnant mamas! 19.01.2022 Morning sickness & daily wellbeing Having 5 kids between us, Kim and I have certainly experienced all kinds of pregnancies and related symptoms. Kim was extremely sick with all 3, unable to stomach much besides watermelon and even had an aversion to water!!! ... I had nausea and was worse with my second feeling like I was hungover for the first 2months, really out of breath and crazy fatigue! This makes it challenging to be able to do the things we had hoped to do with our daily exercise and eating routine. The best advice I can offer if your experiencing this too, would be to surrender and Listen to what your body is actually asking of you during this new way of being as a pregnant mama. I also found it helped to eat small meals, soups/broths, plain foods like bread and crackers, if you can keep anything down and stomach what you feel like (which may be way off to your usual salmon and veg for this first trimester.) Ginger tea and natural ginger cordial in Soda water was a daily fav of mine too. Rest when you can and body is asking you to and do what you can when you have small boosts of energy...our pregnancy workouts allow you to go at your own pace and do as long as you like. So this was a game changer for us both to still get some movement in. Good news...Trimester 2 I felt like a new person, way more energy to exercise, and back to eating more nourishing foods (no more salt & vinegar potato chips )! Pregnancy definately teaches us about the ebb and flow in life. Take one day at a time Jade x https://fitfabmum.com.au/programs/

19.01.2022 Happy birthday to this gorgeous human! With a #flashback pic to when Jade was not far from meeting little Seb Jade is gentle, yet fierce, and is rocking it as a strong single mama of two these days. I am in awe of you babe, and I hope you enjoy the day celebrating your 37th trip around the sun! ... You are the true example of a FIT FAB MUM, you show is what it means in every sense Kim x

18.01.2022 ‘I don’t know where to start!’ We hear this so often from excited, but overwhelmed mamas to be. They know they want to give their babes the best start in life.... They know they want that gorgeous pregnancy glow! But they just don’t know where to start! We get it! We’ve both been there. There is so much conflicting information when it comes to pregnancy- what’s safe to do, safe to eat, or on the other hand what to avoid- it can leave any pregnant mama absolutely paralysed and overwhelmed. With simple, effective at home workouts, delicious recipes, and meditations for a healthy mind, you will never have to second guess yourself again! 17.01.2022 Aaaand....... This is where I’ll be for yet another afternoon. I’ve been feeling pulled in different directions all this week- ... My head wanting to: clean the house jump on the computer and get work done make those appointments that need to be made catch up on the washing that is now officially taking over the laundry.... But my heart says surrender. Cuddle. Let her sleep on me for just one more week.......

17.01.2022 I've just started encouraging Zac & Isla to tell their reflection some affirmations in the mirror. We focus on some of their strengths & other positive qualities. One of my favourite's for Isla is 'I AM KIND', because she realy, really is. ... Why is this worth sharing with you all? Because I'm making a real point to help my kids distinguish between being 'kind', and being 'nice'. I grew up thinking they were one in the same....and they're not. Being KIND is..... Being true to your own moral compass, always treating others with respect and compassion, speaking up for what is right (regardless of whether it rocks the boat or not), and being truthful, even if it can hurt others feelings in the short term. Being NICE is...... Keeping the peace, not rocking the boat, bowing to societal pressure & conforming. So - Let's stop telling our daughters to be 'Nice Girls'. Let's start encouraging them to be 'Kind Girls' - and instill in them the courage and confidence in themselves to be just that Kim x

03.01.2022 How do we UNLEARN what diet culture has taught us? Diet culture has taught us that being truly healthy comes second to looking good. Diet culture has taught us that thinness is more important than the size of our hearts.... Diet culture has taught us that we are imperfect, and should not feel good about ourselves unless we look a certain way. Diet culture has taught us that we are weak, undisciplined, unworthy. And I have to tell you - DIET CULTURE IS A BIG FAT FUCKING LIAR! And I for one want to see it long gone - for the sake of my kids and the generations to come! Because: You don't need to stave yourself on 1200 calories per day to look great. You don't need to follow keto, or low fat....or any diet that see's you cut out entire food groups or limit one macronutrient in favour of the other two! You don't need to make eating healthy food so damn complex that you need a bachelor degree to follow it! You don't need to exercise to the point of exhaustion. Instead......nourish yourself with loads of fresh fruit, vegetables and lean meats. Say a big fat YES to that occasional piece of cake. Look to add more good in, rather than focusing on what you're limiting. And move your body in ways that feel good to YOU! We guarantee you will absolutely glow from the inside out, you will start to appreciate that gorgeous rig of yours, and you'll have other women asking to have what you're having!! So with that in mind, can we all PLEASE agree to leave the joy sucking vampire that is diet culture back in the 90s where it bloody belongs?!

03.01.2022 STORM WISDOM for Mamas This year has been a flooring for many of us in all different ways. Many have lost their jobs, their freedoms, their relationships, their minds. Have had to home school and re adjust to working at home with kiddies and babies Have you felt the storm Mama? This past 8months for me has been one of the hardest roads in my journey with my marriage breakdown and becoming a single mama, but as I work through the heart break, the emotions, the purging of the ...old worn out stories I tell myself I am realising the point of it all. The necessary storms that have to happen in our lives to crack us open, to shine some light and help us find truth and clarity for our forward journey. To feel the contrast. Without the contrast we never know the opposite or what we truly want. I feel as Mamas we experience many transitions in life, from growing a human inside us, to birthing and re-birthing ourselves, learning how to let go of life as we knew it and finding our new identities. Navigating motherhood to somehow show up as our best selves and learn how to re-create new pathways from our own up bringing. Of course we defaut to what was taught to us but then we question if its how we choose to parent our little ones. Do you feel all this too? Remembering Mama that through all the chaos, the ups and the downs and the messiness of mothering we are constantly navigating storms to then find our rainbows. We learn daily and are always evolving into new versions ourselves. Our kids teaching us more then we ever knew. Life is busy, messy and daily contrasts being shown to us. The best way we can work through it is to find a way to prioritise YOU too. To lift your energy, vibes and minds. The kids are always learning and following our lead so I believe its our job to be the best example for them. The ripple effect of showing up for yourself amongst the daily storms is so powerful as you see the rainbows shine and the kids feeling into the new found love for yourself which then allows them to do the same. If you are feeling stuck with how to best show up for yourself and what plan to follow to make life easier, we have got you covered. We have been where you are and are still in these daily storms just as you are. We know though that accountability and tribe is what we all need to shine and stay on path to creating the life, body, mind you truly deserve. The beauty of nowdays is it can all be done ONLINE. This simplifies the journey and is a solution to drop the excuses. Send us a message to chat Mama and we can help you find your rainbow. https://fitfabmum.com.au/programs/ Jade x (And Kim x)

03.01.2022 Are you loving all the berries at the moment? We certainly are....but you have to be quick to beat the kids to them all in this house! Strawberries were one of my favourites from childhood, so they bring back good memories ... Did you know they’re particularly high in Vitamin C! Great for those TTC or in pregnancy as Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant, protecting against free radical damage and also supportive of a healthy, properly functioning immune system. They’re also high in fibre - great for a healthy digestive system. They’re also a source of magnesium (muscle function, sleep), iron (immune function support, haemoglobin production) and calcium (strong bones & teeth)! What are your favourite berries?

01.01.2022 CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER OVERNIGHT OATS 1 cup rolled oats 1 Tbsp chia seeds 1 Tbsp raw cacao... 1.5 Tbsp natural peanut butter (I used Mayvers chunky for texture) 2 cups milk (I used oat milk) 1 Tbsp raw honey 1 tsp vanilla 1 tsp ground cinnamon Mix ingredients together in a sealable container. Leave for an hour or more (I make mine the night before). You can add a little extra milk before serving to get it to the consistency you like. This makes a great breakfast or even snack! I like to make a big batch (sometimes a double quantity) and then just dish out into individual serves as we like. High in fibre (oats/ chia), healthy fats (peanuts), magnesium (cacao) and enzymes (raw honey). Who says healthy food can’t be seriously decadent?! See more
