21.01.2022 This year National Child Protection Week will celebrate its 30th year with the theme: Putting children first Putting children first was front of mind when the National Child Protection Week campaign was launched in 1990, with the aim of bringing abuse and neglect out of the shadows and putting child wellbeing on the national agenda. Since then, the need to put children first has been recognised time and time again as an important pillar for boosting the wellbeing of all ch...ildren in Australia. Putting children first means prioritising the safety and wellbeing of children. To grow up well children need to feel safe and loved, have a chance to play and explore, have a say in decisions that affect them, and access to essential things like food, shelter and healthcare. For children to thrive we need to come together as a community and put childrens needs first during National Child Protection Week and every week. https://www.napcan.org.au/

20.01.2022 Guest blogger on the website today... "You dont have to look hard to see signs of joy while gardening with children. It can be in their purple fingertips as they pick mulberries, or in their gasps as they see the first tomato of the season. Its in their intrigue as they open up the compost bin, or see a worm wriggle to its home. Its in that first bite of a nectarine, picked fresh from the tree, the sweet juice covering their smiling lips. Yes, joy is easy to find, but di...g a little deeper, as it were, and you will find even richer evidence of learning when children have the opportunity to be in the garden. When it comes to nature play and nature connection, a garden is one of the quickest and most tangible ways to start the journey. Many people ask me how they can get their children interested in the natural world and one of my answers will always be to start a garden........." 14.01.2022 As well as being a challenge climbing can be fun. It allows children to naturally improve their coordination and motor skills including balance and agility. Children gain an understanding of spacial and directional awareness through climbing as well as helping cognitive development as they problem solve, use their memory skills and explore feelings of fear, motivation and achievement.

09.01.2022 Kolby's Random Acts Of Kindness The Leopards were rather excited today when they noticed that Kolby was hiding in the room. Once Kolby had been found one of our leopards had the opportunity to pick a card from Kolby's bag. They were super excited as the card had suggested having a disco with the Monkeys sometime this week. We then read a story by the Warrawee Fitkidz Leopards from Kolby's book. The book has an illustration and story created by each Leaping Leopard room ...from all the Fitkidz Centres . Each story is about love, kindness and taking care of each other. Where will Kolby be hiding tomorrow? Let's see who finds him first.

02.01.2022 Did you know that there are 4 main learning styles: Visual, Auditory, Reading/Writing, and Kinesthetic. Many children use a combination of each, but usually have one style that works best for them. Here at Fit Kidz we understand that using a variety of methods makes all the difference to children's learning. Look at our clever Leaping Leopards as they use natural materials to form the letters as well as using their maths skills to work out how many pieces makes a letter, so clever!
