12.01.2022 Does the following story sound familiar? My wife works two jobs... from the moment she gets out of bed in the morning to the moment she gets back into bed at night... so that we can afford to pay our mortgage. I work two jobs... around 50 hours a week... so I have more free time to pick kids up from school, shop, cook and stay on top of household chores.... Being so busy means that it’s even more important to focus on our physical and mental health. The catch? There just never seems to be enough time! So we have to approach diet, exercise and mental health activities in a very efficient and effective manner. We aim for maximum output from minimum input. 05.01.2022 Calories are king. The evidence is overwhelming. If you want to lose weight, you need to be in a calorie deficit.... If you want to gain weight, you need to be in a calorie surplus. It’s how all diets work. If a vegan diet helps you lose weight, it’s because you’re in a calorie deficit. If a paleo diet helps you lose weight, it’s because you’re in a calorie deficit. If a keto diet helps you lose weight, it’s because you are in a calorie deficit. It’s not because you cut certain types of food, it’s because you cut calories. Does this mean you need to count calories? No. Do calories count? YES. You need to become calorie aware if you wish to eat and drink what you enjoy while losing, maintaining or gaining weight. Period.
