Tomorrow's the City to Bay Fun Run 2018 _ To all those that will be involved for this great cause I'll be hoping you all have an amazing day/run tomorrow, embrace and enjoy the atmosphere and knock out those goals! _ The REAL GRIND starts when you want to stop...but keep hustling and go beyond your limits until the finish line!... _ Side Note: Ample free parking can be found on O'Connell street and the side streets including the back street where Lefevre Terrace is located, which is around a 15-20 minute walk to the Adelaide Festival Theatre (start of the race location) Regardless of whether you are running or not make sure you are hydrating your body and not just drinking when you feel "thirsty" because by that time you realize this sudden urge you are already likely to be dehydrated. Here's this mornings nice and simple workout that involved Functional Bear Complexes (conditioning weight) with 200m Sprints. 10 Rounds For Time (Details Below ) ... Bear Complex [5 Movements (listed below) = 1 Rep] x 10-12 Reps 1. Clean - Front Squat 2. Overhead Press 3. Back Squat 4. Overhead Press 5. Front Squat Unload Sprint = 200m Take the time through each movement, even pausing through each phase is absolutely okay! Once you feel your confident in the foundations of the movement then get the flow going! I would love to hear your feedback on how you go in the comments below! 13.01.2022 ONE MINUTE PUSH UP CHALLENGE This is a great way to change your routine up. The objective is to "slowly" go down for 30 seconds (eccentric phase) and 30 seconds up (concentric phase). This has got to be one of my favourite push-up variations to date _ Give it a go and let me know how you go! What I have personally found to help me with my fitness journey is to question my purpose, my why No matter how slow you go, how frustrating and painful it feels..keep moving forwards. Understandably, its hard to do so. Yes I get it...Feeling overwhelmed, okay... What else? It's too e...arly, I can't wake up early enough, great. What if...I don't know if I'm capable, alright. But then again, who said change was ever easy? Coming from a place of experience of overcoming major depression, lack of communication skills and confidence, what I personally discovered was that fitness is my salvation and a medium to reset my mindset. Whatever the excuses and self-doubt you are able to conjure up, take a moment and just think. What are the benefits if you are to relentlessly chase after your dreams or progress? Channel your focus. Now add to that an unwavering commitment, perseverance and continue grinding for that change. I can promise you that it will be worth it - Kevin

03.01.2022 With the end of 2018 fast approaching and celebrations underway with our friends, colleagues and family I wish you all a prosperous year ahead filled with lots of love, adventure and smiles. Heres several simple tips that can do wonders in reducing the toll on our health!... Food Try to be selective, rather than eating every piece of treat or savoury food that comes in sight! Stick to smaller portions so that you can enjoy the quality of the food rather than snacking mindlessly, which can lead to knocking down too many calories than usual! **I use a smaller plate, which I find helpful to trick the mind that Im eating too much** Alcohol Now although the thought of drinking like no tomorrow seems festive enough, dont forget the headache, nausea and hangover that comes post overindulgence. Make sure you eat something substantial before drinking and space the drinks all out. Organise your methods of transport and if you are on prescribed medications be aware that alcohol can interfere with the way many medications work and can lead to unpleasant and potentially serious effects. Stop chasing things If there are energy drainers, those that ignore you or things in the past that are stressing youlet them go. Those that LIFT you, REACH out to you, PUT the effort into WANTING to see you and there by choicetheyre all you really need. Smoking If this is applicable to youalthough the occasional cigarette may seem like it wont do any harm, it can very well indeed increase the risk of smoking related conditions. It is very easy to lose track of how much youve had or inhaled. So try to minimise the use and consider the thought of one less cigarette is another day spent with your loved ones. 02.01.2022 Really enjoyed Mt. Crawford's Trailrun today, as always the support everyone that contributed to making this event such a blast and for all the amazing runners, volunteers & runners that all got involved was P H E N O M E N A L! Enjoy everyone _... New targets & New goals _ Although I was able to complete my 10 mile running race at Mt. Crawford today in Adelaide. Being unable to push through physically at the pace I had intended for the race frustrated me hard. Rather than getting caught up in my negative headspace and beating myself in self-dissapointment, all that was on my mind was strategizing the key things to do next to get me across that finish line. It's a process of breaking things into smaller actionable steps to just get it done. And personally what gets me through these adversities is by resetting and aligning my attitude, focus and mindset. Perspective is definitely a key player and rather than dwelling on what if I had done these preparations in the lead up to the race, I have established myself new goals and new targets to annihilate. Now you must be thinking, why would you even put yourself through all of these challenges. And a great saying by Jim Kwik I've come across through listening to his amazing Podcasts is "I don't do all of these things to impress you, but I do it to express to you what is really possible". If you haven't come across his podcasts I absolutely 100% highly recommend listening to them! I'm driven to personally grow physically and mentally to be better than whom I was the day before. Essentially if you are driven and put the work into whatever facet in life that you are pursuing, then yes odds are you will most likely achieve even in the face of adversity. _ Have a phenomenal week everyone!
