15.01.2022 Staying active in winter As the cold season is well and truly upon us it is extremely tempting to stay inside. Although you want to stay snuggled up in bed, winter shouldn’t be a time to stop being active. Exercise can help improve your mood and give you more energy! Here are 3 tips for this winter: 1. Change your thinking- Just because it is cold does not mean you cannot do lots of fun activities. Wear extra layers and get your body moving. You will be surprised... how quickly you warm up! 2. Set some goals- sit down and plan out what you would like to achieve in these winter months. Whether it be to walk 10,000 steps a day or to increase your strength in the gym! Write it down and the steps you need to take to achieve it. 3. Try something new- whether it’s indoor netball, gym class, or riding a bike! Get started and it will help motivate you to get active in these chilly months. Participating in a regular activity is also a fantastic way to meet new people and learn new skills. See more
