25.01.2022 It is a privilege to be able to support this fantastic initiative. If you or someone you know is struggling or wanting some advice, come along and support this night.

25.01.2022 METAFIT: MetaFit is a high-intensity workout, using a series of body-weight exercises with interval style training, designed to keep your body burning calories long after your training session is complete. This workout gives you the best bang for your buck - a workout of less than 30 mins, keeps working for over 24 hours afterwards! Give it a try - Tuesdays at 6am!

25.01.2022 MASK & GYM PROTOCOLS: As of 11:59pm Sunday 2nd August, face coverings will need to be worn by all Victorians when they leave home, unless they have a lawful exception. What this means for the gym (Taken from the DHHS Website): If you are doing exercise or a physical activity where you are out of breath or puffing, such as jogging or running, you do not need to wear a face covering. You must carry a face covering with you and wear it before and after you exercise. If you ...are doing exercise or a physical activity where you are not out of breath or puffing, such as walking, then you must wear a face covering. If you have a lawful excuse such as a medical condition, where it would be dangerous for your breathing to be obstructed while walking around, then you do not need to wear a face covering. It is important that you keep 1.5 metres between yourself and others while exercising, even when wearing a face covering. After clarification with Fitness Australia, the following applies for Fitness 4U: A face covering MUST be worn before and after exercise. In the gym: You MUST wear a face must UNLESS you are anticipating you will be out of breath or puffing. This is interpreted on an individual basis, as different movements and intensities are felt at different levels by a person. In classes: Same as above. If you are anticipating the movements undertaking in class will make you short of breath or puffed, you do NOT need to wear a mask. However, you must wear a mask before and after class and at all other times. In the pool: You do NOT need to wear a mask whilst swimming or in Water Aerobics. Whether you are wearing a mask or not, you MUST physically distance between other members. Instructors do NOT need to wear a mask when teaching a class to allow for clear instructions and cues. Staff will be wearing a mask at all other times except when talking to members who have hearing impairments that require lip reading. If you wish to wear a mask, even if you are not legally required, you may do so. Please note that this information may change at any time! Please feel free to ask any questions if you are unsure!

22.01.2022 COLD PLUNGE TUBS: Have you been in our Cold Plunge tubs? Sitting around 12 degrees, cold plunge tubs have been suggested to help with recovery through vasoconstriction (constricting blood vessels), pain relief, reducing inflammatory pathways, having a placebo effect and changing the hydro static pressure. Recovery is a critical part of training as it is used to minimize the risk of over training and injury, whilst promoting physical and psychological readiness. It is comm...only believed that water immersion therapy can: - Decrease the perception of pain associated with muscular soreness - Decrease the perception of fatigue - Alter localised blood flow - Alter localised tissue and core temperature - Reduce muscle spasms - Reduce tissue inflammation - Reduce muscle damage - Improve range of motion Give it a try after your next workout! 11.01.2022 STRETCH/FOAM ROLLING: Stretching keeps the muscles flexible, strong, and healthy, and we need that flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints. It can also help with posture, decreases injury risk, promotes blood circulation and so much more. Foam rolling is a self-myofascial release (SMR) technique. It can help relieve muscle tightness, soreness, and inflammation, and increase your joint range of motion. Foam rolling can be an effective tool to add to your warm-u...p or cooldown, before and after exercise. And the benefits of foam rolling may vary from person to person. Thinking how many muscles we have in the body (more that 650!), it may be daunting to know what to do. Focusing on the larger muscles that are critical for movement, like your hamstring, quad, and calf muscles. Check out our posters on the wall for techniques on what to Foam Roll and how
