22.01.2022 BIG SHOUT OUT AND CONGRATULATIONS to Fitness Clinic's favourite son and West Harbour's Prop Faiva Sailosi on his first international selection for Tonga in the America's Pacific Challenge to be held in Uruguay! Faiva came to us in the early half of this year diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and concerned on the effect it would have on his sporting performance. In such a short period, Faiva has showcased his commitment and determination within the Fitness Clinic to absolutely de...stroy any challenge that was presented to him. Under the close supervision of our head coach Nick Barsoum, Faiva has learnt to better control his diabetes and dramatically improve his natural athleticism. Faiva's hard work, resilience and talent on and off the field has led to his international selection, which we are confident that he will DOMINATE! Best of luck this tournament BIG FAIVA - 2019 Rugby World Cup HERE WE COME! #rugbyworldcup2019 #americaspacificchallenge #strengthandconditioning #whatsyourflaiva #fitnessclinic #type1diabetes #athleticperformance #bigflaivacomingatya

14.01.2022 Being a clinical exercise gym facility, we are ensuring we remain COVID-19 safe during this time. Don't forget to wash your hands before and after entering the gym, wear a face mask/gloves when possible (our staff can provide if you don't have any yourself!), use a big towel, wipe down your equipment after use and make sure you social distance as best as possible. Together we can safely continue to exercise and stay out of pain during this pandemic!

07.01.2022 World Heart Day ! Cardiovascular disease is the world’s number one killer and accounts for 11% of all hospitalizations within Australia (2017-18). CVD includes stroke, heart failure and any condition in which the heart or blood vessels are affected. Individuals who participate in frequent exercise have significantly reduced risk of developing CVD. Regular exercise also decreases blood pressure, insulin sensitivity and controls weight, these physiological changes are importa...nt in controlling hypertension, diabetes and obesity while also improving quality of life. Similar to how muscles grow stronger from regular resistance training it is important to keep the heart healthy through supervised progressive exercise programs.
