Your body burns calories when you move, but it also needs energy to maintain itself. For example, your lungs use energy when you breathe, and your heart uses energy to beat. You even burn calories at the cellular level as cells grow and repair themselves. The different body processes require various amounts of energy, so your particular body composition affects the number of calories you burn while performing everyday activities. Maintaining a high percentage of muscle and a low percentage of body fat is typically the healthiest way to live.

Opt for good quality chocolate which will be a nicer treat and not fully as bad for your body as the cheaper, lower quality chocolate that you will for sure eat more of! Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated. Thirst can often be mistaken for hunger! Keep meal times regular, healthy and dont skip meals! Youll be more likely to overindulge on chocolate when hungry. Focus on fun activities that make you happy! For us thats of course exercise! There are lots of fun workouts you can do in your home or in your yard, and youll definitely feel better after!

23.01.2022 BEING 40 OR OLDER DOESNT HAVE TO SUCK! Here is what I have noticed after working with a lot of people from all walks of life. In your 20s you can get away wit...h a lot. You do recover faster but you are also able to "push" through the little things you dont think are a problem. In your 30s some of those little things start to catch up with a little bit. They may or may not force you to change your training.. In your 40s those little bumps and bruises you ignored are now problems. You have to be more proactive about your selection of exercises and maybe you start stretching. In your 50s your goals have to change. Now it is just about being able to tie your shoes without thinking twice. NO...it doesnt HAVE to be like this. YES...you can be different. But as STRONG as you can be in the gym it takes real strength to change your program a bit. I am not saying "subtract" what you like most. What I am saying is that the little things you are avoiding are likely the things you need most.

09.01.2022 Why is it so hard to lose weight and keep it off if you've been overweight in the Past? Well there are a number of reasons however the main reason is because we create more fat cells to store excess fat. When body fat increases so does the amount of fat cells to hold and store it. Meaning as you are getting fatter, you create more cells to hold this extra body fat. Even if you reduce your body fat the cells will remain. These may be empty at times if you have less body fat however will always remain there and can be easily refilled if we start to eat excess food particularly fatty food. This is often why those that have been overweight in the past tend to put weight back on easily. There are storage tanks just waiting to be filled. Once extra fat cells are created they may always remain!

07.01.2022 Abdominal advice. 1) Dont Eat Fast-Digesting Carbohydrates Fast carbs spike insulin, which halts fat-burning and boosts fat storage, particularly on top of your abs. Carbs to avoid are white bread, white potatoes, regular sodas, sports drinks, table sugar, etc. Instead, choose whole-wheat, rye or sourdough breads, oatmeal, sweet potatoes, fruits, vegetables, quinoa, legumes and brown rice. One exception here: You can eat fast-digesting carbs right after workouts when theyll... be put to work boosting muscle recovery and growth. 2) Dont Neglect Isometrics More formally known as the Weider Iso-Tension Principle, this means flexing a bodypart, such as the abs, and holding that position (much like bodybuilders do when posing). To do this, tense each muscle for 610 seconds, then relax for 610 seconds. Repeat for 1020 sets. This is a great way to hit your abs while sitting in your car, on your couch or at your desk. 3) Dont Forget About Your Breathing When you perform an ab exercise such as the crunch, exhale when you reach the finish or top position. This is important because it helps you better contract your abs. Holding the position for a second or two will maximize muscle-fiber involvement. 4) Dont Stop You typically train in specific rep ranges, such as 810 or 1215 reps per set. Yet when doing bodyweight ab exercises, you cant alter the weight to match a predetermined number of reps. Therefore, rather than doing crunches or hanging leg raises for a set number of reps, do as many reps as possible until you come close to failure. 5) Dont Forget to Weight Many guys worry that if they do weighted ab exercises, their abs will become thick and blocky. Yet abs are muscles just like biceps, so they need definition and separation to stand out. Do some weighted movements in the 810-rep range for optimal ab development.
