24.01.2022 Hey All. As you all know today is our last day of opening and we close the doors at 4pm. Its been my absolute pleasure to be part of the Kotara community for the last 7.5 years and Ill always remember this club we all love so much with fond memories. I started here as a MC and worked my way through to PT, PT Manager, Fitness Manager and then Club Manager. All while loving ever day that I got to spend with you all. I hope you all continue your fitness journey make sure if your ever on the central coast come say Hi at Tuggerah. All the best. Nath.

22.01.2022 Fresh Fruit Friday - "oatmeal slice" credit http://www.optimalessentials.com Healthy Fruit & Nut Slice... cup sultanas 1 cup of chopped dried fruit, apricots, apples, pears. 2 cups of natural non toasted muesli mix 1 cup of wholemeal flour 2 teaspoons baking powder 2 free range eggs a cup of natural unfiltered honey 1 cup of chopped nuts macadamias, walnuts, almonds, pecans. I cup of organic plain yoghurt 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Method Pre heat oven to 140c Place all the dry ingredients in a large bowl and mix well Beat eggs and yoghurt at room temperature together gently until mixed into a creamy mixture slightly warm honey then add to egg mixture and add vanilla extract. Mix dry and wet ingredients together to form a sticky dough like mixture just slightly on soft side (you may need to add a little extra yoghurt if mixture is too dry) Place in a non stick pan or shallow baking tray. Cover with grease proof paper and bake for 20 minutes approx then remove paper and continue to cook for 10 minutes more remove from oven and place a sharp skewer into centre of slice if it comes out clean the slice is cooked. Leave to cool in the tray for 15 minutes then carefully tip out of tin onto a wire rack cooling tray and leave to completely cool before cutting into thick slices. Keeps in an airtight container for approximately 7 days( or a bit longer)

15.01.2022 Hi Folks As you would have heard by now, we will be closing our doors on the 16th of December. We opened in September 2007 and want to thank all of you for your support. Weve worked hard to create an awesome sense of community and a great environment despite many challenges, which is why it is such a shame the business has decided to let it go. It is tough to turn a dollar in the fitness industry and Fitness First has decided it is in the interest of its long term success t...o focus investment primarily in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane (all Perth clubs were handed over to Goodlife in September). The club will be operating business as usual until our last day. All memberships and contracts will automatically cancel as of that date, however, if youre staying on with Fitness First send us an email at [email protected] and well provide a complementary upgrade to a Platinum status for access to all gyms. 01.01.2022 One of the best things we can do to optimize our training recovery is to consume a varied and calorie-controlled diet. Once we finish a workout, protein and carbs help kickstart the recovery process. Protein lends amino acids that help repair muscle tissue, while carbs begin to replenish lost glycogen. Interestingly, research shows that glycogen depletion can hinder muscle protein synthesis. So, getting enough carbs has a direct impact on our ability to recover well and build muscle.
