18.01.2022 We've got a bit of a wolf pack challenge going with our members at the moment. The nominated pack leaders for week 1 had to do 500 burpees. Then everyone else good back them up with between 100 and 500 burpees. Needless to say there were some burpees done. Can you spot Colin doing burpees all the way from Kazakhstan? Also keep an eye out for the extra "weight" Brendan endured for his push-ups!

17.01.2022 De-stressing doesn't just accidentally happen. You ain't gonna just stumble upon relaxation. You have to go get it. You have to make time for it. And it doesn't just have to be in the form of chanting meditation. Go for a stroll outside, do yoga, lie in the sun, get a massage, snuggle with your pet, dance to your favourite tune, have sex, go for a gentle swim, have a good laugh, do some deep belly breathing... Seems like a pretty easy thing to do but it often gets forgotten. And it's something that we really need weekly, if not daily. Challenge yourself to accumulate 20mins of relaxation every day for a week. It's harder than you think!

Captain Miranda McCurry! Fitness HQ is now offering chartered flights within the state as per the current boarder closures

Whether its healthy banter, some laughs or challenging yourself learning a new skill (or revisiting one from your childhood). Fun should be a large part of the programmed workout for the day

11.01.2022 Some days you come to the gym feeling a bit flat. For whatever reason you might be a bit tired, a bit stressed, a bit sore or a bit under the weather. We hear you. We totally get it. We would never expect our members to be firing on all cylinders every single day. Which is why we will always tailor a workout for you if you're just having one of those days, so you can still come to class, have some laughs and get some endorphins flowing.

09.01.2022 PEP TALK.. Training, is just like any other task in life, in order to be effective you need Small actions done CONSISTENTLY to see the best results. Note we didnt say optimal all the time, or done perfectly and we certainly dont mean without set backs. Think for a moment about some of the areas youve excelled in your life: - University or school - Business... - Career - Relationship - Saving for a house - Walking your dog - Brushing your teeth nightly From big to small tasks and now imagine instead of consistently chipping away you - Took a week off (often) - Didnt turn up unless you were feeling 100% - Decided after 1 week or a couple of months it was too hard - Turned up sporadically once every month or two instead of weekly Where would you be right now? In the case of the degree maybe in a very different career path and in the case of the brushing your teeth.maybe toothless. And we don't even want to think about your poor doggo! You owe it to yourself to be consistent and not perfect, to show up often enough, for long enough, to see, feel and live the positive change. Athletes and judges will help each other to change weights during 1:00 transition/rest phase Movement Standards Power Clean: Must finish with hips and knees locked out, elbows in front of the bar and bar resting on chest before lowering the bar. A squat clean is permitted as is a split clean provided feet come back in line. Lateral Burpee: Two foot take off, strictly no one legged jumping, chest must touch floor, jump must be lateral alignment to the bar. Airbike: To initiate, press the start button once, then give it all youve got! Feet must come off pedals as soon as time is called. Judge will take calories on screen as time is called (not after). Soft tissue occupational therapy is trigger point therapy targeted specifically at the dysfunctional area and locally to it! ... When should someone come and see you? People can come see me when they are starting to experience discomfort in a particular performance (job, training etc), when theyve had a specific trauma to a joint or muscle (rolled ankle, pulled muscle etc) or for regular maintenance (those who work on computers, study or have a job where their posture isnt great. What's your favourite thing about what you do? If anyone knows me or spoken to me, I love a chat and treating people means I get to chat to them, get to know all about them, educate them on functional movements/ conditions, all while assisting them back to function or helping them maintain their optimal functional level.
