21.01.2022 300m Row Competition!!! Competitions will be held on the 28th November at Fitness Matters Jimboomba. We are celebrating our 10th Birthday and want you there to celebrate with us! Before competing in the 300m row, you should adjust all of the settings to ensure comfort, good form and being secured in the machine. These include foot straps to keep your feet and body in place and any other seat adjustments that may be available to make you more comfortable and fully ext...ended. 1. Don't lean too far back While performing rowing machine exercise your back should maintain a natural position and stay relatively straight. 2. Don't lean too far forward The opposite is also an incorrect way of going through your rowing machine exercise. 3. Do use the full range of motion This means incorporating all of the needed muscle groups (legs, back, core and arms) and completing the exercise from beginning to end. A beginner could rely too much on solely their arms, merely pulling the handle to their body. You actually want to push off with your legs, while pulling the handle back with your arms, using your back for power and your core for stability. 4. Do keep your arms straight and palms down The proper grip for rowing machine exercise is with your palms facing down. Your arms should also stay in a straight line of motion. Pulling up with your arms, down, or curving them in any way can put unnecessary stresses on your back muscles and make you lose proper form. Rules 1. All participants must have the row machine set on level 10. 2. The aim is to row 300m at the fastest time. 3. The timer starts as soon as you begin rowing. 300m Row - 8:30am - 9:10am LIMITED SPOTS!!!!! Only a couple more spots left, so comment down below if you are interested! Start practicing! Yoga with Katie, 9.30am Thurdays ( Book online ) Yoga has known to be beneficial since ages, and not just for weight loss, but also to keep the mind calm.... A mind running with negative thoughts over the uncertain future results, often results in sleepless nights which causes daytime fatigue. Mental health is of utmost importance to see through these challenging times. Most people are not able to relax and forcibly try to relax which results in greater stress Why yoga Anxiety or stress usually triggers the sympathetic nervous system which will have manifestations such as increased blood pressure, tensed muscles, lack of concentration, faster breathing, and yoga helps to calm that down. Yoga is a great tool as the stretching poses help to reduce tension in muscles and joints, and this can, in turn, help relax the sympathetic system. There are many yoga poses which are excellent for managing blood pressure thereby reducing anxiety symptoms.

Glen is consistently here pushing himself 3-4 days a week incorporating Personal Training sessions with Matt as Well as Group Fitness Classes. Glen also keeps fit for his favourite hobby, Refereeing the local Open Mens Football games even making it as far as premiere league grand finals! 06.01.2022 Weekend Treat anyone? JAM DONUT BALLS ~ A delicious raspberry creation thanks Switch Nutrition ... Ingredients: 1 cup frozen raspberries 2 tbsp water 1 tbsp maple 1 tsp lemon juice 2 1/2 tbsp chia seeds 1 cup oats 1/2 cup natural peanut butter 2 tsp cinnamon 1 tsp Vanilla 2 tbsp rice malt syrup 1 scoop PROTEIN Switch Vanilla Bean 1/4 cup shredded coconut 1 scoop ADRENAL Switch Salted Caramel - Stock available from club see Matt tomorrow if you need supplies * optional Pinch salt 50g melted white chocolate 1/2 cup caster sugar 1 tbsp cinnamon Method: Place all jam ingredients except the chia into a small saucepan and cook over a low heat until soft, add the chia seeds and whisk to combine Pour jam into a a jar and place into the fridge to set fully Combine all ingredients in a food processor and blend until sticky Roll balls of the mixture in your hands and the flatten in your palm, dollop a teaspoon of the jam into the Centre and fold the sides together to make it back into a ball with the jam inside Place into the fridge to harden once all rolled Combine the sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl Use a fork to dip the balls into the melted chocolate then straight into the cinnamon sugar rolling gently to coat (its messy!) then place into a lined tray and into the fridge to set!
