25.01.2022 2020 TIME TRIALS - ALL WELCOME: Sunday 9th February, 2020 Ref. 20200209 - #67 Event #1 - 5kms Time Trial, Patterson River - 9:00am Start Event #2 - 10km Port Philip Bay Time Trial - 10:30 Start... Meet 8:15am at PLCC Club House - Launching Way, Carrum Briefing 8:30am - Start 09.00am ENTRY - PLCC Members FREE - Non PLCC Members - $10 Event #1 - PLCC / FPA - 5km FLATWATER TIME TRIAL 9:00am Start PATTERSON RIVER, CARRUM Event #2 - PORT PHILLIP BAY TIME TRIAL - App. 6-10kms 10:30am Start - Dependent on weather and entry numbers. PATTERSON RIVER MOUTH to CHELSEA PIER or SEAFORD PIER Start and finish will be from beach either side of river mouth depending on destination. This event has been scheduled due to requests from members. It will be subject to weather conditions on the day and entry numbers. Safety requirements for PP Bay paddle that must be adhered to - see FPA web site. Please Note: There will not be a safety boat on the water so participants are responsible for their own safety. Charged mobile phone, PFD, Safety Leash, Flare must be carried. Please load the SafeTRX app on your phone and be familiar with its use before entering the event. Enter On Line at : http://www.fitnesspaddlers.com.au Make a note if you plan to enter one or both events. REGISTRATIONS BY 4pm SATURDAY - This allows for Handicap Calculations to be carried out and Start Lists to be set up prior to the event so as not to delay our 9:00am start time. Event #1 is an ideal outing for competitive flatwater paddlers and paddlers beginning their kayak racing experiences. Event #2 is for more experienced paddlers wanting to get some downwind/ocean paddling experience - Dependent on weather conditions. Handicap Starts ensure that every paddler has an opportunity to finish with a chance of crossing the line in the top positions, whilst also giving the more experienced paddlers the added challenge of chasing down the front markers.

09.01.2022 COVID-19 Update 7th Sept 2020: GREAT NEWS!!! Paddle Victoria has been advised by COVID Directions (COVID-19 Public Health Division, Department of Health and H...uman Services) that paddling has been approved within the scope of exercise for Stage 4 Restrictions (advised on 7 September 2020, Transcript ID# 158 123) Paddlers will still need to comply with the published restrictions of social distancing, masks, limiting travel to 5km and and limiting exercise time to 1 hour (until next Monday where the time limit is increased to 2 hours) The Paddle Victoria Board and Executive Officer have been engaged with Ministers, Vic Sport and the DHHS presenting the case for paddling as a safe form of exercise since March 2020. Paddle Vic is continuing to present ongoing submissions highlighting the future advantages our sport has in the reactivation phases. The Paddling community and clubs have shown great responsibility complying with the restrictions and should be congratulated. See more
