22.01.2022 The Victorian Road Safety Strategy for 2021 to 2030 has announced its ambitious goal of halving road deaths and significantly reducing road injuries by 2030. This is to set Victoria on the path towards zero deaths by 2050. There will be a dedicated focus on the issues that we know contribute towards Victoria’s road trauma: driver behaviour including speed and distraction, greater support for vulnerable road users and those who use the road as part of their work, addressing un...safe vehicles, high-risk roads and intersections, and greater emphasis on post-crash care. The Fit to Drive Foundation sits firmly in the strategy under education programs. Road safety education is required throughout life to increase awareness of road rules and relevant risk factors, with pre-licence teenagers requiring a tailored approach to ensure learning outcomes are being met and have the biggest impact. Our flagship program, the F2D Year 11 Workshop, will be relaunching in 2021 with a refreshed look, updated to reflect current road safety issues faced by young people and utmost importance placed on facilitated discussions and highly interactive engagement. To bring road safety to your school in 2021, please contact us at [email protected]. 02.01.2022 With our last #FacilitatorFriday for the year, it is my pleasure to introduce to you all to Sanjna "Sanjna’s friends would describe her as the fiercely loyal mum figure of the group. She loves talking to all kinds of people and, in her spare time, busies herself with arts and crafts projects and movie marathons. Sanjna is incredibly passionate about the arts having studied a double degree in film and screen studies (and business management!) and wishes to someday do a P...hD in the field." "She was first introduced to Fit to Drive five years ago, and instantly fell in love with facilitating workshops and bringing the best out of young people. Sanjna found the team’s passion contagious and inspiring, and soon after progressed into the role of Workshop Leader herself. She has also since gotten her license and has become a firm road safety ambassador crediting Fit to Drive for her safe driving ability and road behaviour." Thank you Sanjna for your amazing work at Fit to Drive! We'll catch up with you again in the new year
