Most of these strategies are designed to compliment different lifestyles. . Equal calories everyday... this strategy is ideal when you need some consistency in your week. Plus having no low days means hunger should be at a minimum. . high calorie workout days This strategy tends to work best when doing hard training as your body is more adequately fuelled for you to perform better on your training days. . Higher calorie weekends. if you’re the sort of person who likes to have the odd higher calorie food on the weekend this set up is ideal as you.. as you can work hard on the weekdays on lower calories while at work and on the weekend have a bit more relaxed approach with food choices but you still need to be accountable to your calories. Plus you get to eat a little more. . The key of course is consistency. . Consistency in a calorie deficit will lead to the weight loss goals you’re looking for. Utilising supplementation and stressing about food choices Are one of the last things you should be considering when trying to achieve weight loss goal. Adherence and compliance At the end of the day, you could have the best plan that ever existed but if you can’t stick to it, then getting the result you what is next to impossible. ... Calorie deficit To get your body to shift body fat you need to be in a calorie deficit. This means your expenditure is greater than your intake. (Remembering we can’t out train a bad diet) Having a coach or using a calorie calculator is the best way to get your numbers. macronutrients Once you have your calories down pat you can start to focus on hitting your macronutrient numbers to further refine your result. Hitting your protein target should be your first priority in this section. As it helps with hunger and recovery. Followed by fat intake as it regulates hormones, then carbs are the remainder. Exercise When hitting the gym, Focus on resistance based exercise as this will allow you to maintain lean muscle tissue which will assist you with your fat loss process. The higher your lean mass the more calories you body can handle before gaining weight so this is a key aspect and why resistance training is a must for long-term fat loss. Food choices When choosing food we want to try and get 80% of our diet from nutrient dense foods. That have low calories but more nutrition. Fruits vegetables lean meat and fish. Making sure you hit fibre intake to is important. Note: we haven’t included supplementation into this table as it’s one of the last things we want to look at utilising as attempting everything below is a lot more important supplementation can only assist the process if the foundation is strong.
