21.01.2022 It may be Christmas Eve, but the team at Fitzgerald Solid Plastering is hard at work restoring a Richmond icon. The National Bank of Australasia was built in 1886-7 by renowned bank architect Albert Purchas. Today the team is fixing major cracks in the building’s facade, rebuilding heritage moulds and reinforcing the structure. It’s a privilege to be involved in the restoration of this historically significant landmark so it can continue to be enjoyed by generations to come!

Daz is passionate about his craft. His speciality is restoration work. I love taking something old and dilapidated and breathing new life into it, turning it into a piece of architecture that a whole new generation can enjoy. 11.01.2022 Today we are at the historic Wesley Church site in Lonsdale Street, Melbourne CBD restoring the internal walls of the old school house using traditional lime plaster. Originally built in 1886-87 by renowned bank architect Albert Purchase, the building was once the National Bank of Australasia. We are working to help restore the site to its former glory including rebuilding heritage features and reinforcing its structural integrity. What a privilege to be involved in this project to give some much-needed TLC to a Melbourne landmark!
