24.01.2022 Yay for the accessible tram stops but this will suck massively for a few weeks traffic wise. Nicholson Street will be closed to vehicle traffic between Victoria Parade and Alexandra Parade from Friday til 16 September. All east-west streets will be closed at Nicholson Street for the duration of the works, except Johnston Street which will only be closed from 8 to 12 September Bike access still sweet via Exhibition Gardens path

20.01.2022 Still one of our faves...The Black Cat Cafe, created by Henry Maas with Toni and Brian Edwards, opened on Brunswick Street, Fitzroy, in 1982. Its European-style coffee, retro furniture and bric-a-brac defined Melbourne cafe culture for decades to come and created a space for Melbournes poets, artists, philosophers and musicians to congregate over a short black or a Bodgies Blood (ice-cream spider). Maas went on to open the Night Cat nightclub on Johnston st.

Were excited to announce Fridays projection works and one night only music program to bring the community together through art. Flooding the gardens in an immersive experience, feature artist Kate Geck will present RLX Field. An ambitious display of projection art, with moving image displayed on the facade of Atherton Towers & throughout the Gar...dens. Yarra Youth Services present Ignite in partnership with the Little Projector Company, showing live, observational and interactive projections. Have you tried shutting up, mate?; Dancing With Androgyny; Feel It, Draw It; and Local Faces are Fridays projections in the gardens and undercrofts for you to explore. Friday nights music program presents local & emerging DJs & MCs from 6pm. Vinyl Vixens Jnr; Ror da Poet and HendriX (from Rising High Studios), plus a live AV set by Genre Spanner. Music program supported by Yarra Youth Services & Man with a Van. A free, community, family-friendly event.
